No, it has a sexy growl like the 330i Sedan does.

I won't debate pricing with you, since I tend to agree history repeats itself. But your statement is somewhat absurd. They don't give away the doors, they make a killing on them. Even if there were 13 spare doors packed in the trunk, they'd still rake in the dough. They price the cars where the market will bear it, not based on some function of material and manufacturing cost. Mercedes, for example, "gives away" the two extra door plus about $10k if you take the C350 sedan instead of the CLK350 coupe.

Probably...although they aren't exactly cheap either. A Lexus IS350 is not very far off from a 330i Sedan once you factor in optional suspension and such.

Only if the market will bear it. BMW currently holds the crown for the most popular vehicle in this segment. They have much more flexibility when it comes to profit margin.

is anyone else as pleased as me?

For the price of my 99 E36 M3 fully loaded, I can get an equivalent car for rougly the same price.

$44,000 plus some misc accessories when they come out. All i want is the Sport seats, leather, and heated seats. Could care less about park control or navi...

I think this is very fair pricing....

Forgive my alliteration....
I meant it in the same context that you are speaking in.

If the market PERCEIVES the same car with 4 doors to be buyable at only $1000 less, then that's what the market will bear, and as such that's what the price will be. Sound better?

40K! That's awesome. I recall some people INSISTING that it will NOT be less than 42K BASE. Other people said it would be 47K BASE. Now some of those people are saying, "see, I was right, it is 42/47 with the mandatory options". I think there is some confusion as to what a "base" car is

In your face, 42K and 47K people!

Oh, and for the person who says that the under 40K people are eating crow: THE SEDAN WILL BE JUST UNDER 40k, as it was sensibly expected. So, who's eating crow now

Word.

328xi (Jet Black): 37,100
Cold Weather: 600
Sports Package(w/ 197's): 600(?)
leather upolstry(black): 1450
Comfort access: 500

40,250

+ 695 destination =

$40,945 total-ish.

No sense in me getting the premium package since, I don't care about the mirrors, I have no garage, and bmw assist doesn't work up here (i think). no sense in navigation either. since there's 1 highway in alaska and distances are measured in "minutes".

hmm... Maybe I'll have to start checkin' out the new VW R32.

Loaded

My choice would be a fully loaded vehicle- why? Because it helps with resale- A LOT......

That being said a 54k 335i is just short of a fully loaded M3 E46 cpe. So....it is kinda pricey with all options. Only way to justify this in my mind is performance- if it comes close to the current M3 than great but if not 54k is a bit of a stretch. Maybe nix Active Cruise and Comfort Access....

Either way can't wait for the test drive............

They put 13 spare doors in the trunk? No wonder they give you run flats...no room for the spare tire!

The 330 Sedan will also be upped by $3K when it becomes the 335 Sedan.
If they raise the 328 sedan by $3000, that would be crazy. That will be a pretty damn expensive HP upgrade. It's more justified for the 335, since you are getting almost 50HP. The increase for the 328 is less than half that. They will be nuts to charge $3000 for that. I stand by my 1500-2000 prediction (not counting the fact that an 800 base increase will probably happen due to standard xenons).
