Water Pump Failure

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have any reviews on Turnermotor sports Water Pump? My water pump went on me tonight and had to get my car towed to my buddies shop. I need to order a pump and stat ASAP btw it failed at 52K. Any help greatly appreciated.

You might want to check with the dealer first. Someone from a dealer (a local one, actually) told me there was a new recall and I think he said it was for the N54 water pump. Couldn't swear to it, but it may be worth the minute phone call.

I was skeptical about it because I figured if it were a big deal i'd have heard about it on here by now lol... Anyway, sorry to be sorta off topic

Can someone confirm if there's a water pump recall? If so I'm going to dealership next week to have them check it.

Bill came out to 1200 with the Stat and Pump replaced. I'm pretty sure there's no recall for the pump I know they have there hands full with the Wastegate issues and turbo replacement right now.

That sounds about right from the dealership. Indy shop charged me 950 total with parts.

Damn, I'm thankful that my water pump failed while I was still under warranty.

We're there any water pump revisions in between model years? I would like to know if my 09 would be subject to these water pump problems.

I'll let you know. Is that price for the WP and stat or just WP?

Ask the dealership, maybe BMW NA can do a courtesy/good will on the car. Also just cuz you hit 50,001 miles doesn't mean your factory warranty is up... when you drop it off for service they record your mileage in/out... because that mileage they put on is not counted against you.

just ask the dealership... worst they can say it No?

I would assume it depends on the issue, but as always YMMV. Safest way is to remove what you can. When my pump does die... I'll probably just leave it on Map0.
