Leather care.. Lexol vs BMW leather kit
I was gonna go out and clean my leather in my 335i with the real leather and all i have in my garage is the BMW Leather cleaning kit and Lexol spray bottle of cleane/ and a bottle of lexol contiditioner spray bottle kit.
Which works better on the seats? Also can either be used on the steering wheel? |

leathercleaner
greetings - i hope all is well
unless you like the smell of cow pattys, do not use the bmw leather care kit ... i bought one to try and ... oh boy ... smelt like in my home country switzerland ! owning 2 new vehicles i did a lot of research and received a lot of outstanding tips and advice from forum members besides the swissvax leather care kit (i will try this next) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=592461 i prefer the leather master products (leather master universal cleaner ((made for p type "protected" leathers)) followed by the leather master protection cream (the two products will cost you about $35-$45 depending where you shop) manufacturer: unitersna (if your total is $50 or over shipping will be free) AWSOME detailing suppliers: detailersdomain (uses newbie for 15% DISCOUNT) detailedimage (E90POST FOR A 10%) the product you still have at hand seems to get a lot of use and good feedback so does the leatherique line etc. KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU ARE DEALING/WORKING WITH the PROTECTED (urethane covered) SURFACE and not directly with the leather regards |

Thanks alot for the information, much appreciated.
I just used lexol cleaner and lexol conditioner. The cleaner worked really good! took off all the dirt, left it nice and dry look, very clean. The conditioner, did give it somewhat of a shine, but no scent, i will look at it in the morning to see how it is. Is it bad if i dont use conditioner and just use the cleaner. I used the cleaner on my steering wheel and didnt put no conditioner on since i like my steering wheel to be nice and dry with a flat finish |

I've used the bmw leather cream and yes it leaves a strong smell of leather but I somewhat like that. Putting the smell aside tho I actually found the leather cream to act as a cleaner as well. By the end of applying the cream all round the mf was no longer bright yellow but a dinged dirty colour and this was after using autoglym leather cleaner with leather brush.
I'v also tried the zaino leather in a bottle but it left the leather shiney so never used it again. |

The BMW kit had too much "shine" for me, and needed more buffing off. I'll stick with Lexol or Meguiar's where I get great results for way less work.

I used lexol cleaner on m seats last nite and applied the conditioner. I have to say the cleaner worked well, and the conditioner didnt leave any shine or smell what so ever.
