Hey Joe

Can you confirm that we have the right part #'s?

Post up some pics if you can.

$370 is exactly 1/2 vs what the BMW performance Intake costs.

just fyi that the US perf. intake has airflow from the top of the box also. I doubt bmw would create a whole new intake box if the euro one is exactly the same.

I think that the only difference is that the BMW PERF is Carbon Fiber and Lid?

Didnt Joe say that it was the same?

Right! and is a bit bigger(visually)

I see what you are saying about Air at the top(back)

We can see that the regular Eurobox is missing the Airduct on the back

I know, its hard to justify when there are no proven gains or dynos showing any gains.

Anyways for anyone interested, visually you can see the lower portion of the Euro box to be bigger than the BMW Perf intake.

If someone would just sell me one or would be willing to head to a dealer...

Keep in mind that the pic of the usa version in that pic is just half of the box.

I installed my K&N E-2022 yesterday into my euro airbox but I didn't get to test its effectiveness truly as I ran around with MAX AC on all day as it as hot as ballz yesterday. Either way the sound is much better than having the US box in and the sheer size of it has to allow more air in. So for over half the cost of the Performance intake I think this is a better way togo.

Correct. I don't think the top of performance airbox will fit on the euro box. The performance box is almost the same shape on the bottom as the stock us filter. The inlet to the airbox is larger but the filter is the same and the side with the carbon filter is reused from stock US. The only thing that really looks different is the lid.

I did the BMW Performance Intake with the Carbon cut and K&N filter and the car is very throaty and sounds so load, and when you get up to high RPM's you can really hear the sound of the intake I love it.

Guys,

If you are looking to do this look at the first post for pricing and a sponser who can source these.

I have no affiliation with them

If you do order, please verify lead time and the parts included.

Yeah I would be in as well for this Intake. I am putting the OEM BMW performance Exhaust on my 2008 328xi sedan E90 next week and I would like to tie it in with an intake. I found a peformance shop that can dyno ALL WHEEL drive cars like mine so for 125.00 I could have it dynoed stock, then with exhaust and finally with exhaust and intake. Please keep me informed if anyone wants to purchase this intake together.

As stated above, the Euro Airbox is now available thru ECS Tuning:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=43

At $365 for the Euro setup - this is definitely the direction I am going instead of GM Performance Intake for $700+

Euro looks to have a bigger airbox volume and does not use that secondary air intake that the performance version does.

Sure, the performance has CF - but I already have a CF Upper intake Snorkel, and a CF lid is available that I think will work on the Euro box

Well, they do not have a link to any purchases their website. They only thing listed on the above thread is an email address of joe@ecstuning.com. I just emailed him about purchasing an intake for my 2008 E90 Sedan, will post what I find out.

I wonder if not using that second air intake is a good thing or a bad thing from restricting air intake?

It's been discussed that the secondary intake is more for intake sound deadening purposes in some way or another - although IDK why you would need or want sound deadening in a performance part
