How many platforms they work with has nothing to do with their success, as the N54 is a different animal than your typical engine. The fact that they specialize in BMWs is actually a + in my book. I would rather choose a Dinan, or BMS product than one of these tuner box companies advertising on Ebay that make products for many different car brands.

JB3 or PROcede.
I wouldn't consider AA for the price.

Def the JB3...

Bang for the buck and have money left over for a BT cable which is a must IMO

JB3 pinout is under $400 and it's not much harder to install than the true PnP harness version of the JB3 (or procede I'd guess).

I started with the JB3 pinout which is easy to install but because the fuel pumps on the N54 seem to have as little as a 5k mi die&swap interval, you're better off picking a tune that's easy to remove (before service). The pinout isn't bad but I found it tends to scratch up the wires and may leave telltale signs you've played with the DME/ECU where the true PnP version would not.

Both will wake up your car an unbelievable amount.

The JB3 plug and play is actually $579 - the price you have is for the pinout version - do yourself a favor and get the PNP. The procede is just over a grand and provides some more user adjustment and is easier to update, has logging etc, so if you want that stuff, the procede might be worth the extra dough.

The other option on the horizon are some flashes - the one from GIAC may be promising and not a bad price, put for now the piggybacks are ruling.
This is the best unbised opinion so far.
You should research the different tunes and buy accordinly to your needs.
I went with JB3 BTW because of bang for your buck, I didnt require "data logging".

i'd go with a LET stage 2 flash tune + exhaust.

340 whp on a dyno dynamics and 370 torque.

The JB3/DCI combo is a great deal and I am happy i can offer it to the community

The BMS intake performs great and looks good. There are flashier intakes for many hundreds more but they yield no differences in performance. I have sold over 200 DCI in the last 6 months and everybody is very happy with them.

The JB3/DCI combo also qualifies you for free shipping currently so its an even better deal

dont get me wrong the dyno results from jb3's make the product very tempting but active autowerke said it throws no codes ( i searched and couldnt find any, please post a link if you know of any aa problems) and said they have invisible flash, downpipes and oilcooler all on the way. i have no experience with these products or even turbo cars i just dont think aa is as bad as some people are making it sound.????

LOL!!
AA has yet to take the first step: admit that they are 2 years behind everybody else. All their N54 products are invisible, except the flash after its launch in 2015.

LOL, i can give you a tune that will give you an extra 10 whp and it will never throw a code

seriously, i have been using BMS products since their first JB1 tune - i am on JB3 now - and i have never thrown a juicebox related code.
...only time i threw a code was when my methanol nozzle sprung a leak.

AA has downpipes and oil cooler on the way ?? a bit late no ??
... i have had my UR catless dps on for almost a year and a half now, and my VK oil cooler has been in my car since last summer.

the AA tune to date has few users, but i will say that some like the AA intercooler.
note that the aa ecu tune faded pretty fast once proceede and BMS juicebox products hit their stride well over a year ago.

i am not trying to bash AA cause they have had many sucesses in OTHER platforms. but if you want power now or soon, i would not wait for them.

my 2 cents

JB3 is definitely the way to go, and like everyone else has said, do yourself a favor and get the PnP version you won't regret it.
