I have my opinions based on what I've seen from various posters, but I want to get a better idea, and whether I'm right or not. I don't think this is going to be eye opening, but I think it will be telling for BMW.

For what's it's worth, I'm a 37 year old "Euro-car guy." I've owned Audi, BMW, Saab, Peugeot, Jaguar, and Alfa Romeo cars in my 21 yrs of driving. I consider myself a Saab guy at heart. (don't get me started on my hatred of GM at the moment). I like cars that are fun to drive and have good handling as rule #1, and unique as #2

The 335d replaced a 335i. ZERO regrets....best thing I've ever done car-wise. The 335i was actually a bit disappointing...mainly from the reliability perspective. The 335d has been flawless. Just did a roundtrip from LA to San Fran and back....35 mpg, effortless power, refinement at highway speeds, and 610 mile range? LOVE IT!!

I can't think of a car that makes MORE sense in terms of efficiency, "green" performance, and fun. Probably the best car i've ever owned. Sure, it doesn't rev to 7000rpm, but after a few days of ownership, screw the revs! Give me the torque!!

I think older people like diesel more ( sort of a stereotype).... but me along with most of friends would choose diesel over petrol and were all young.

If this had been available back when I got my Jetta TDI, I'd be two categories younger on the poll with the same car.

I've taken a couple of younger 335i pilots for a ride and they are absolutely amazed at the performance of the D, especially rolling/roll-on acceleration.

Based on some feedback, I'd have changed the age options to something a little more appropriate, but the results are showing what I expected.

I expect that I'm probably one of the youngest owners who bought the car by themselves, though.

I'm 60. so grouping me with the 35+ makes me feel young again!

I love my D and am glad I did'nt get a gasser.
The monster torque and driving range + FE makes this the best driving machine I've ever owned.

I loved their cars, esp. the newer designs. its a damn shame we wont get to see that company's future they had an ill slogan, "born from jets".... if im not mistaken, they invented the turbo?

LOL you can't base any conclusions on 4 posts. But common sense would say the typical BMW owner is older, because lease or own, it's a relatively expensive car. Then, because a diesel is even more expensive, the age goes up, and since the performance is lower but there is another appeal such as mpgs, torque, and longevity, the age would go up again, as far as who is typical in making such trade-offs. By my calculations the avg. diesel driver makes $38,000 per year and is 103.78 years old. Wait, that can't be right.....

HS is 55yrs old. I guess that the guys who have seen it all recognize a good German car when it come onto the market. My first drive of a BMW was in 1968 when my brother-in-law brought home a 2002 from Germany. I would point out that the older crew is more experienced and don't buy anymore based on the heart but on the facts and want the real deal. This car the 335d has all the right stuff, and there really is not anything like it...

This is only marginally true. And frankly, I'll take a tuned diesel over a tuned 335i any day.

Additionally, before making this thread, between 2 forums, I've gathered a bit of information on my own. I didn't need posts to make my comments, but the poll was more of a verification of of calculation.
