Why rougher/louder ride with 20" from 19"

I just sold my 19" wheels for 20" and my car rides rougher and louder. The 20's have the same profile in mm and in width. I'm wondering why the car rides so much stiffer, rougher and louder. Could it be just the tires? I did go from Falken 452's to General Exclaim UHP.
Any ideas.
TIA
Mario

The bigger the wheels you get should always get more bounce.

The smaller the sidewalls, the rougher and stiffer the ride. No idea about the increased noise. I use Falken FK-452 tires and 19" rims ( staggered ). They are smoother than 18" runflats.

I don't have less side wall, my 19's were 225/35, 265/30 and so are my 20's. Everything is the same but the diameter.

With those measurements you have probably one querter inch less in tire wall height

How does that work? 225/35 is still a tire with a sidewall that is 35% as wide as the tread correct? So there isn't really any difference right, not in sidewall anyway. Contact patch is going to be very slightly larger, the car will likely suffer do to the increased weight and over all rotating diameter, but otherwise...

So yeah.
