minimum tread to quality replacement RFT under Tire Rim program?

Brought in my car to dealer as nail embedded in tread (not sidewall) of RFT. SA mentioned that since treadlife is less than 4/32, it does not qualify for replacement under tire-rim warranty. Is that correct?

What does your paperwork say? Each tire warranty is different but most do have a 4/32nds limitation. Old school thought was that tires are considered worn at 2/32nds but new research has shown that tires lose the ability to dispel water at 4/32nds - the point at which you should swap your tires.

Unless your paperwork still says 2/32nds, I'd say that your dealer is correct.
