Update: 165K + and still going strong.

Here's an oil analysis that was taken at 164k with 7.5k mile interval, I usually try to change my oil around 5k. According to my report/blackstone, the analysis was pretty good, I might start trying 10k oil change intervals as suggested by them.

don't... things like clogging PCV valves from long OCIs won't show up on oil reports.

This reminds me to fill up my sample bottle I have laying around somewhere! Great post and love seeing a high mileage E90/92/93 with great numbers based on the lab test.

tracking your car and driving it at high rpm will clear the clogged pcv and stop your turbos from smoking at idle. do ask me how i know lol.

I'm at 159k now.

Turbos are playing up though (still originals) and a few index 9 injectors are leaking.

2008 335i - 151K - Purchased at 75K.

Prior to purchase, the HPFP was done as well as a clutch.

At 80K I replaced the WP/Thermo

At 85K I added JB4

At ~90K the SZL failed, no more cruise control or Hill Assist

At ~95K did walnut blasting

At 130K I replaced the turbos with OEM and resealed the oil pan and OFH gasket

Runs STRONG, drives great. Does leak oil, and I've gotten through 2 smogs with the DP Fix...but at this point I'm itching for a car that isn't a rolling computer (see SZL failure), and one that is all motor, with a similar level of power. Any suggestions?

Nothing scary about the steering angle sensor? If that's what you are referring to.

The SZL is the steering angle sensor, and it feeds data to the DSC. You mean, do I feel safe without traction control, cruise, and Hill Assist? Yes I absolutely do. When its wet, I drive easy. When its dry, I take moderate chances, at best. I personally would rather not even have something like traction control, just something that will break.

I bought a used, good SZL, and noone could code it to my car, including the dealer.

New SZL is like $500. Just not worth it at this time. And I did take it apart and try to fix per the old DIY, without any results. I'd LOVE to have it fixed, but not to the tune of $500-700. Any ideas on how to help otherwise?

Update- about to turn 164k. I see a few guys a bit higher than me, but now I'm driving 500 miles a week for work alone- 100 mile round trip. That's only the commute, not counting anything else! I hope I'll catch up soon. I'm still stage 2, catless DP's. boosts great, but does seem to have an occasional stumble, and rough running when I'm just coasting with like 1% throttle, down a hill at highway speeds. No clue why, Plus, my drivers rear window regulator is going.

My stock 2008 335i is sitting about 147k on the clock. Has a persistent misfire that hasn't been cured with the usual changing coils and plugs so my next attempt is walnut blasting with the kit from bavauto. Wish me luck!

2008 335i purchased in 2010 with 54,000. Now at 186,000... I don't remember the milage but put a JB4 on in 2014 along with CAI & cat delete... On my 3rd water pump & had to rebuild the transmission a few miles back. Changed the plugs twice & of course, brakes & rotors... Having issues trying to pass smog right now, it's going into the shop this Thursday. This time after smog the cats are staying on Lol...

Anyway, yeah a few people are complaining about things like clutch, walnut blasting, a few gaskets etc. Listen, those are normal wear and tear items, and ALL cars have issues. I have a friend with a Camry, needs a new transmission at 120k.

Cars do need repairs.

But imho the point of this thread is that these cars will go FOREVER and still look stylish. I love seeing a nice 3 or 5 series o nthe road from the 90's or even 80's. Try that with other brands.

I’m at 120k

192k and she finally blew. Timing chain completely disconnected from crank, lost all timing instantly and blew up.

Was pushing 510hp and 590tq at the crank...
