I know Mercedes has this feature.

In LCI bmws with Xenon lights here's how the cornering lights work:

In REVERSE - both turn on

In drive, under 35mph, when the turn signal is on, only that side turns on momentarily.

In drive, under 35mph, when the wheel is cut about 15-25º only that side turns on.

The center 2 lights are the cornering lights, and are no longer the "flash to pass" lights.

This differs from halogens, which do not have cornering lights.

another correction. this is not residual air, this is
"REST" button, it was implemented on my 1995 BMW E34 5 series... meaning rest when the car is at rest you can still have auxilary pump to circulate the antifreeze through hot parts of the engine and into the heater core...

Pre-LCI E92's have this also.

Not sure if this has been discussed already. I don't have comfort access so when I turn the car on with my key inside it's slot, I can't turn off the car, take the key out, and can turn the car back on without reinserting my key. Is this something anyone else has noticed or is it just me?

It is explicitly mentioned in a post on the previous page

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1640

"get in car and place key fob into the slot, start engine with key fob in slot, turn off engine, take key fob out of slot and press the start engine button without the key fob in slot. You have to do it real quick, it gives you 15-30 seconds to restart the engine after you take the key fob out."

This is window indexing. It's because your window needs to drop so that it doesn't bang into the roof when you close it. 4 door cars don't have that because the window has a frame.

Window indexing is pretty common... but still cool as F. ...and the little motor noises when you get in and out rock! Feel like you are in a computerized race car! ...BECAUSE YOU ARE!

I think this is only if you have comfort access and have the keys in your pocket or within range.

Seriously I wish I had not read this post at work. I can't stop laughing. Clearly your BMW is a perv. I hope your car paid for that service.

Think I'm the first person to notice this.

6MT + Cruise Control.

Engine will auto-rev-match for the next gear.

Try this:

Set your cruise control while you're in 4th gear. Stomp the clutch but don't touch the accelerator, the revs will automatically drop to the perfect engine speed for 5th gear. Let off the clutch and... perfect shift. No drivetrain shock or anything. Doesn't matter the speed.

Anyone know if ALL 335i's have heated mirrors and washer nozzles? Can't seem to find a straight answer and I don't feel like disassembling mine to check. Not sure if the mirrors are working or not . . .

I'm pretty sure all 335i's have heated mirrors. By washer nozzles I assume you mean the headlight washers? Those come with Cold Weather Package.

It's actually so the window can create a proper seal with the window trim. If the window does not drop (i.e. your battery is dead), you can still open the door just fine with the window up, and it will still close properly too. But it won't be properly sealed. Cars since the early 90's as far as I know do this. e36's for sure as far as BMW's go.

Don't the headlight washers come with xenon headlights as well?

No. Both heated mirrors and headlight washers are optional in 335i. My 2011 335i has neither, even though I have xenon headlights.

Headlight washers are part of cold weather package.

To cancel the turn signal, you don't push it the opposite direction. You push it slightly (not beyond the resistance point) in the same direction as the blinking side.

The blinkers are intuitive once you get used to them and now I don't like driving cars with "normal" blinkers.
LOL this took me about 2 weeks to figure out

Ahhhhh, I have a 328i xdrive, my headlight washers were "FREE" but not sure what exactly prompted it to be free since I don't have the cold weather package, but the car came with almost every option in the cold weather package (i.e. fold down rear seats, heated seats, heated steering wheel) apparently individually ordered (don't ask me, came that way!!!). So i just assumed the headlight washers are either standard in the 2011 328i or it came with the xenons?

The heated mirrors are at least standard on 2010 models.

http://autos.aol.com/cars-BMW-335-2010/equipment/

You are right though that the headlight washers have always been a part of the Cold Weather Package.
