intake question

hello this might seem like a dumb question but to install a DCI intake after taking it out to be cleaned do you need to take out the cowl to re-install it? i got into an argument with my friend on BMS website it says to take out the cowl and unplug a few wires, but that is when the stock airbox is in. my friend thinks that regardless you need to do those steps but i think those are only for the removal of the airbox? am i right about this? thanks

You don't need to. I took out both DCI's with the cowl on, it's just easier if you take it off.
