Leather reconnolising

Hi,

Love the lemon leather interior of my e90, but sadly over the years its been reduced to a dull beige colour with armrests and bolsters looking sorry for themselves. Have tried the colouring products with limited success, which lightened up the interior but looked a bit patchy and bodged plus horribly shiny.

Was on the verge of binning it and buying a brand new LCI leather interior off ebay, but then came across a company that will reconnolise the leather (eg respray it into the original colour).

Long story short, booked in for saturday afternoon and they reckon the seats will look matt and lemon fresh as new, all for £350.

Will post up pics once complete but wondering if anyone else has done similar to their e90, and what the results were like ?

Sounds interesting. Do you know if they can they do colour changes as well?
Look forward to your pics.

Colour changes could be done, would take too long though as they'd need the car for a while & would be double the cost.

Was very tempted to get full colour change to saddle brown.

By keeping the car the same colour they just have to take the seats out and spray on the driveway & can be done in an afternoon.

Here's an example of a Testarossa with similar worn light colour and what can be done..

This is identical to mine at the moment

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10181-BMW-...ht_3081wt_1063

If you look at the close up shots of the armrest, it's not a bright, vibrant lemon. It's a dull colour that looks really dirty. Looks brownish rather than lemon & has lost the matt finish.

Testarossa's seats look amazing

I wonder how much they would charge for a complete colour change

you got a website for them?

Someone on the forum did this to their car, sprayed their entire interior brown, don't think it cost anywhere near as much as this.

The leather has been painted so it's the same as when it's new basically.

Interested to see your results.

I did mine with some cleaner and conditioner a while ago. Took a couple snaps:

Armrest before:

After:

Seat base halfway through:

You get the idea! Much nicer to sit in when they're soft and matt, huge difference. The stuff cost about £20 or something. Results aren't as good as yours will be though...

This guy sprayed his e92 with the e46 cinnamon colour. Always liked it.

Not sure what has been used here but if you have a look at any of the detailing product sites they have a selection at different cost levels. Myself, I use the Auto Finesse leather cleaner, a Polished Bliss soft bristle brush and AutoGlym leather conditioner. It's a 6 monthly job for me. That said, and as has been pointed out, a clean up won't compare to a refurb/recolour.

Ok. All done.

Must say very impressed. Leather looks like new again. Has the nice matt finish & no dirt at all.

Poor light, but you can see close up the difference. The bolsters were really grubby and worn before but now looks factory fresh.

If anyone else interested, this is the guy I used. Nice guy and very thorough.

Wow they do look good.

Like a new car again. Good result and money well spent in my opinion.

Enjoy
