AT is down shifting in DS manual mode during WOT ???

I'm trying to do some WOT runs in 3rd gear in my 335xi E90 in AT in DS manual mode. At low RPM the car downshifts to 2nd. Likewise from 2nd to 1st. Both events only seems to happen when the WOT switch at 100% peddle position is pressed. Is this a throttle map issue or some other issue? How can I prevent this automatic "kick-down"? I'm running Stg 1+FMIC aggressive, 93 octane gas, AT in manual (DS) mode. Thanks!

I that case how can you be certain you are at WOT? I'm trying to get in some runs for virtual Dyno tuning using Cobb ATR.

Its a lot easier if you put in in M mode, you still can hit the kickdown though so just don't floor it 100%. I think DS will downshift if you give it enough throttle even if you dont hit the kickdown. I rarley use DS mode nowadays.

I am in manual mode. That's the point of my question. It's still downshifting from 2nd to 1st or 3rd to 2nd. I just noticed this today after I flashed in Cobb stage 1+FMIC v402 aggressive. I guess I'm wondering two things: 1) has anybody also experienced this, and 2) is it somehow related to the flash? I could be mistaken, but I don't recall seeing this downshifting in Stage 1 v401 aggressive. Thanks.

Ok your OP is a little confusing. If your in Manuel Mode by shifting to DS then bumping the shifter up or down and or using the paddle shifters to get in M mode and when going wot WITHOUT hitting the kickdown button and its downhifting then you have a problem.

Some one on here advised me to buy some hose O rings the rubber grommets that go in the end of a garden hose.
I super glued 3 flat and one round together cut a slice in them slid them around the rod under the gas peddle.
Couple dots of glue will do and also glue it under the gas peddle.

I checked my logs and still hitting WOT and no more kick down
Cost about $3-4

when your peddle is all the way down without hitting the kickdown throttle is at 100%.

kick down is a pretty cool feature imo, its more like a "all out button" it knows it can be in a lower gear so it will downshift so the car will take off faster. it over rides everything even manual mode, but keep in mind stay above id say 25-30 mph before using kickdown so it doesnt shift to 1st.

id say play around on the highway on higher gears and go wot, so you have a better idea on where the kick down button is.

OP, I've posted a question to Vischnu about this.
I'd like to see the kickdown switch disabled when in sport/manual for dyno work.

When doing dyno work, the kickdown can be a PITA. I'd much prefer total control over the AT.

has been looked into, kickdown can not be disabled by software. Suggestion is to disable it mechanical by adding some stuff below your peddle
