Red face Oil changer warned of hot oil pan gasket

Should I heed his warning? Is there a way to check if it's really going to cause some potential damage to my car? I looked around and saw the price of changing it was around $900+ which isn't too bad if it's worth changing at the moment.

What does he mean by a "hot" gasket? I'm sure everything under there gets warm due to engine heat.

Indeed. I think he's angling for work - get someone to change your oil.
The oil pan gasket shouldn't leak, it's designed to last the lifetime of the engine. And if you have an oil temp guage, notice that 250F is a normal temp, which is indeed "hot".

It's the crappiest designed gasket I've ever seen

He didn't even say the gasket leaks, he just said it's "hot."

Which doesn't make any sense.
