Need more sound!

Ok so I just picked up my 07 335 and it has magnaflow mufflers on stock exhaust but it is just too quite under WOT my goodness! What would be my best/fastest option to get some more sound; cutting off mufflers for straight pipe or adding hi flow cat? I don't need it to sound like a race car but I would like to hear something at WOT lol

any ideas?

I know guys have removed all cats leaving stock mufflers but sounded a bit raspy to me

cut outs leak/break and never provide a solid seal.

just do a muffler delete or a 2ndcat/resonator delete

I had just the muffler delete before and when the car is cold and under 200 degrees it sounds like shit, but once warmed up it sounds awesome (:

Take the engine compartment silencer off. You'll hear spool and blow off with no investment. Remove pollin filter & cover, then the silencer( 8 bolts total). Can flap open will add some growl for free as well. Try these things before you go cutting stuff off the bimmer.

Removing the mufflers will drone a lot in the cabin. The inline 6 is a raspy motor, it is hard to get rid of that noise when you are freeing up the exhaust.

In my opinion the only tolerable options are downpipes.

Do you know which magnaflow mufflers are on the car now? Perhaps you may want to change those to something else.

My buddy has cut outs on his CTS-V. He also has headers on top of that. But it's a night a day difference in sound. Open, it sounds like a drag car...closed just another quiet caddy.

I'm not sure how our cars would sound though with cut outs...

This is with stock downpipes and straight pipes. Won't sound nearly as good as an LS motor, ask me how I know

I like the sound but that is sooo loud haha

Would taking off the mufflers on a stock system make a gurgle like that?

I see alot of people keeping their stock exhaust do aftermarket x-pipes. Where do they find those, magnaflow?

I'm having trouble deciding if I want to do muffler delete or keep the mufflers and do an X-pipe

Just go full catless with straight pipes. If the rasp is too much just have some resonators welded in.

Chances are you'll be deaf in a week though

Lmao GOOD!! Fucking mosquito fart can exhaust -- Go with the HPF single-pipe exhaust. IIRC it merges into a single midpipe (post DPs) w/ a resonator & then splits again the back. Should give you the louder but bass filled sound you're looking for

IMHO -- Exhaust are a waste of money. They offer no performance gains & just make a lot more noise (and more than likely a lot of drone )

Here's what mine sounds like:

I currently have VRSF catless downpipes, stock secondary cats, swapped the stock resonator with a custom made X pipe, and stock mufflers... I like the sound of it from the outside, but inside it is practically stock, about 10% higher than stock, maybe because of the sound insulation these cars have.

I definately want something a bit deeper and throatier, but not obnoxiously loud... Am currently debating wether to remove secondary cats, but don't know if that will point in the direction I want (maybe it will bring out raspyness wich I detest) or to just remove both secondary cats and mufflers and swap with vibrant resonators.
