Dynos--Stock, SSTT, JB2, JB2H, Exede, Procede V1.47!
I have also added the AA Xede and the JB2H to this section as well since a bunch of people want to know the increases with these. These tunes were done on the same dyno using the same car. I also had Ultimate Racing Downpipes with high flow cats with these dynos. Now, some will say that comparing the tunes when I had the downpipes already in is an unfair comparison, but I honestly didn't see an increase of power after I tested the DPs. I am not saying that the DPs are bad, The drivability of the DPs are great. I just didn't notcie that much more power.
The conditions of the Xede were 86.6 F, 30.03 in-Hg, and 27% Humidity The conditions of the JB2H were 72.5 F, 30.30 in-Hg, and 16% Humidity I am using the STD correction factors (smoothing 5) in every run. OK guys, A while back I wanted to see what my stock numbers were so I did a baseline run, which was stock ecu with magnaflow rear mufflers, stock resonator and no secondary cats. I also checked the Turbo Tuner and was happy with the gains. Today, I went back with the PROcede and the JBS2 to get these runs so I could see for myself which one is the best in terms of power. The only tuner that I didn't have that I really wanted was the Xede. I guess there's always more time, but not for this post. (Xede now added to the graph) This was a completely independent test. I paid for all of these runs out of my own pocket and I don't have any bias towards any one tuning company. These runs were done on the same exact car on the same exact dyno with 91 Octane. These comparisons are pretty much the best you can get. It never makes sense to me when tuners start comparing dynos from a dynopack to a mustang dyno, etc. All dynos read differently even if they are the same type of dyno and all cars behave differently. Also, 3 runs from each tuner were taken and the best run from the 3 was chosen for the final graph. I didn't try to screw anyone and compare their lower graph to another tuner's higher graph. Just in case you don't believe me, I have included the 3 runs from each tuner including the stock 3 runs. I was absolutely blown away by the results. I've had the procede on my car for a while but then took it off to try the JBS2 for a while. I felt a drop in power but I never thought that the procede was giving me this much. The thing that I really didn't care for with the procede was the jerkiness in lower RPMs, but after these results I think I'll wait for the V2 to see if anything has changed in terms of drivability. For those that don't want to bother with going through all of the graphs, I'll post the unbelievable numbers: Procede V1.47 ($1300) .....333 whp and 371 wheel torque Xede (1200)......................325 whp and 361 wheel torque JB2H ($359) .....................332 whp and 341 wheel torque JB2 ($349) .......................308 whp and 332 wheel torque SSTT ($600) ......................305 whp and 332 wheel torque Baseline...........................280 whp and 294 wheel torque The Procede had a gain of 53 whp and 77 wheel torque. The Exede had a gain of 45 whp and 67 wheel torque. The JB Stage 2 with the Hot pill (JB2H) had a gain of 52 whp and 47 The JB Stage 2 had a gain of 28 whp and 38 wheel torque, but notice how well the hp holds over the TT. The TT had a gain of 25 whp and 38 wheel torque, but notice that the peak hp with the TT is a spike. Finaly, for those that really care about the temp, humidity, etc...I used the STD with correction factors so the results should be very similar. Here they are though: Baseline and TT had a temperature of 88.6 F, 29.96 in-Hg, and 25% Humidity Procede and JBS2 had a temperature of 92.5 F, 29.72 in-Hg, and 29% Humidity

Good info. Now we have to find out what parameters makes the track results vary so much. I mean, 50 more horsepower should be about 5mph faster at the track, and sometimes the modified cars are barely faster than some stock ones. A stock 335i can run 105mph+ in the 1/4 mile, so with Procede it really should run 110mph, but that is more often not the case. What is the coolant temp/oil temp range when you get full boost. Does the procede keep the same ranges, etc. Maybe Shiv can chime in.
FYI: The stock M3 runs about 105mph in the qtr, and the new E92 M3 with 200lbs more, and about 80 more horse power should run about 6mph faster than the old one...and at 111mph reported so far..its spot on. A 10 hp gain should be about +1 mph in the qtr, and a 100lb weight increase about -1mph in the qtr. |

Here is the AtoF for the ?? and the Procede. The sniffer tends to run 1 point lean but the procede still looks pretty lean. Here are the graphs.

I suspect there is more to it. The juice box does attempt to alter the O2 sensors when under boox to enrich the mixture. The TT does include high temp protection as well as possibly adjusting the IAT signal as needed.
But in the end, and if the ?? is as suspected, both result in similar gains. The difference is in the ease of install. |

Well the ?? for the value of the dollar mod is gonna make TT a run for their money, but not Procede!! But if those dynos are correct ?? and TT are neck and neck but ?? for the money is most less if it works longterm!!!

Great info, it would be interesting to look at Boost vs Hp/Tq numbers.

As others said, what stage Juice box.
Also, I am assuming since you are in Cali, you are on straight 91 octane? Also, don't you have the custom intake (with the cone K&N)? If so, were the previous stock run and TT run with the new intake or stock intake? Just trying to get all the data straight. Good info. Thanks for your efforts |

What is "the Juice box"?
I tried Searching for it in the forum, but I couldn't find an explanation of what the Juice Box is. Seems like it is some sort of inside joke with the regulars here. Anybody up for explaining?
Also, are there any tests or experiences of the RD Sport unit showing how it compares to the other guys? I'm still planning on getting a PROcede 2.0 when it comes out, but I'm curious about the others. Thanks, - Jim |
