Whos with me on this !? (Meme)
Had to make and post this. Sorry if it re-ignites another holy war. *I should also mention, I've had a friend break one before and I still love them anyways.

I actually dont mind them. Definitely better then E39 cup holders. I had cups flying out of there like crazy.
One story that really sticks out with the E39 is when i made a left turn and protein shake cup tips out of the cup holder and fully empties in between passenger seat and center console. Picture that mess. |

Yeah, they don't get nasty like normal cup holders. When they're not in use they're hidden from view and I think it keeps the cockpit looking clean. I've always been a fan. Just need to be extra careful with them.

After having lived in Germany, I can understand the cup holders. I don't usually see Germans taking drinks everywhere and normal size of drinks is much smaller than ours.
I've come to appreciate mine more than before, but they're just not designed to carry 32 ounce cups, for example, so I tend to buy smaller drinks than before. |

I personally like how they look in the cabin but their functionality is shit.

I only find it a pain when I have a passenger, they tend to catch or knock them with their knees. Perfectly out of my way, nice reach distance and with euro drink volumes even the biggest are fine.

Are we talking about M-Sport cup holders or non-M-sport cup holders?

What's a cup holder? You guys drink in your cars??
Just kidding... I rarely used them, but they worked. I wasn't crazy about the location and neither was any passenger. They were an interesting idea but ultimately not the best design. Now if BMW would just start putting the window switches on the center console again - where they belong in a BMW! |
