Coilovers and front sway?
Is it worth it to do these handling mods on a 325/328/330 or is the vehicle just simply too heavy to perform well on the track?

Why do just a front sway bar..and not front and rear. Just puttin a front on with INCREASE understeer...not fun. I know lots of guys that have fun with 330s on track.

You mention the 330 but not the 325/328. |

ive never tracked before... was planning on going with an experienced driver at thunderhill near my school but i mean... upgrading suspension + maybe getting slightly better brakes in the front + LSD--shouldnt that be good enough to track with? you'll be handling the corners better and you'll be braking later so what you lose in the straights you gain in the corners... right?

I am just starting to run with the BMW club...but in looking at the attendees list...I dont see very many E90 325/328s on the entrants list. I see mostly M3 (all years) and a smattering of 335s and 330s.

drive the car on the track first, then decide if you need those mods.
If you're already concerned about the 325/328 not being a good track car, then you're going to feel double plus bad if it's not the right track car AND you spent money on mods. FWIW, I don't think it's too heavy a car for the track. You won't be passing Z06's, and probably won't be setting track records for your car class, but so what? If you don't have experience. 325 can probably handle more than you anyway. (you didn't state your experience level, so I'm speculating here.)

Running just the front only here! And do see a reduce in understeer from less camber loss through the turns. |
