N55 E9X Vs E63 650i
Hey guys. I'm interested it what you guys are thinking. I might have the opportunity to upgrade to a new car soon and want to know your opinions. I'm gonna post my views on both and then let you guys share your opinions
Current car: Pre lci N52 E90 2006 No angel eyes, no sport package, no nav. Nada haha. I absolutely love this car but I hate being behind everything. I don't have angel eyes, or any technology or anything like that. The car looks great and is awesome but I definitely would love an upgrade N55 335i Coupe or Sedan? Lci for sure! Why I want it: Familiar because I have an E90 already. Lots of horsepower because of the turbos. I'd finally be able to get a jb4 or the equivalent. I'd definitely need comfort access, sport, and Idrive E63 650i coupe My absolute dream car. I've always loved the look of it but its a high price range. It can beat a 335 stock but I feel like the 360hp isn't big enough. It's definitely gonna be more luxurious than the coupe. The only drawback is the price and the lack of power for me. |

I say E92 335is.
650i isn't a sports car, it's a GT. 650i will NOT beat a stock 335i. 335i does the 1/4 in 13.2, 650i does it in 13.4. Times are really too close, but 335i will be much faster in the real world because it weighs 300lbs less and has a torque peak 2000rpm sooner. This is before you buy any kinds of mods... Just depends what you want, OP. If you're under 40, I'd go E9X. |

M3 or go home.
Seriously though, if you want a fast car, get a 335is or similar. The IS is awesome

335is! or if you're feeling nimble 135is!
as "The Low Key OG" said, in the real world, the 650 will not feel as fast as the 335.. I mean I can't speak first hand, about reliability.. but I could imagine it not being too swell.. and 360 hp, I know it is an old car but I think BMW was late to the party when they were making the 4.8L V8 that only pushed out 360hp... for that gas mileage and displacement, I'd want a land rocket, not a quick car.. still absolutely love the E63 6ers but as for buying one, never for me.. now F12 650/M6 ..

I have a 335is, my friend has an E63 650i. My car is much faster and more reliable. His engine overheats all the time if he pushes the car even a bit. (His engine has even blown once...) And his gas mileage is pretty bad too...
The 650i is a good looking car, but it's outdated now compared to the new line-up of BMWs, and I personally would never buy a car like that second hand.

Yeah thanks guys. I don't know it's hard to not want your dream car anymore haha. The M6 is 10K more expensive than the 650i or a very decently furnished 335i. I'd probably want a coupe for the 335i just to switch things up

M6 will cost considerably more to own too. The M5 board is a horror film when it comes to maitenence, gas, and insurance.

Totally understandable about your dream car! I'm younger than many members on this forum, so I may have a different perspective about waiting to get the car of my dreams... If you do go for the 650, try and get a CPO one with at least some warranty left... It's a great car, and a beautiful one, but it does come with maintenance.

I love the old 6-series as well but for less money, the twin-turbo, better MPG and more tuning potential, I'd for the 335....with some type of warranty of course.

Yeah I'm definitely going to get a CPO with it and an extension to the warranty if possible. Also no offense to the older owners on here but yeah I do see the 6 series as an older mans car. I'm only 17 and it would look weird I think for me to be in a 6 series

and hey, don't sit here and struggle with your choice saying it is your dream car, cause in your first post, you said this car was your dream car E90 325i... so it seems you use that term sort of loosely with not too much heart.. I could imagine you getting sick of the 650 quickly.. being I'm 18, i am also looking for a nice 335i, goodluck!
