Hey guys, I just finished this project last night. Waited until this morning to take a few pictures. This is how the brushed black metallic wrap (link to where I bought it) looks with a beige interior. If you want, I can take more pics.

This was my first experience with vinyl wrapping, it's honestly pretty easy. Just go slow and remember the heat gun is your friend.

I have the stock brushed aluminum trim in my 09 328i and it goes great with my paint (Titanium Silver Metallic) but I was looking for something else because all of my accents are Gloss Black. This is just the thing!! Thank you so much

How do you get around that metal strip on the ashtray compartment?

I put the vinyl over the entire cover then used the heat gun and a credit card to get the vinyl to conform to the metal strip as closely as possible. Then I just used an exacto knife to cut around the strip and peel off the vinyl.

I just pried mine off until it broke and then applied the vinyl and re glued the strip after. Much cleaner and less room for error.

I just did this to the radio and climate control trim to add an accent to my carbon fiber wrap.

Agreed. It does look nice.

.... and extra credit for being creative! Of the 100 wrap posts I've read over the years, this might be the first time I can remember seeing this.

Thanks. The idea just came to me. It was really easy to remove the pieces and wrap them.

Thanks. I ordered the base-plate from Tischer part #51169141518 and disconnected the light up gear selector module from the original base-plate since the sport mode wouldn't work without it. I left it plugged in and it tucks nicely in the tranny hole with no rattle and vibration. I vinyl wrapped the black portion of the new base plate with dark aluminum and painted my stock shift lever. Since the new base plate does not come with new leather I reattached it to the new base-plate with glue (it looks OK but a new replacement leather boot with proper fitment would be better but I have yet to find the leather boot standalone since it comes with the DCT shift stalk already attached) I like the look and at around $110 it was relatively inexpensive. This is just another option to improve the ghastly outdated cheap look of the stock automatic shift knob/base-plate.

Wow that looks great, did you just use one big piece for that piece in the lower left pic? Looks like you used two pieces of vinyl. Nicely done!
