does my car have comfort access?

My car starts without the key in the ignition. its a 2009 335i. However, I cant unlock the doors without using the remote. I thought if you can start it without the key in the ignition, then you had the whole package. Is it possible i only have the starting part? Or maybe the key is not programmed right?

Look at the back of your key, if you have a battery door, then you have CA...

Yeah, if you turn the car off and take the key out you can still start the car without the key within a said amount of time.

I think it is supposed to be a safety feature.

I use it to start the car on cold days so I still have my keys in my pocket to lock the front door when I leave the house 15 minutes later

Or you can do what I do... Put your ring of keys on the side where you can slide out your secondary key. When you need your house key while your FOB is in the car just slide out the spare key and take it with you while your FOB is still running the car.

It'll be override if you open your door before you start up the car. Kinda pointless if you ask me.

Lol forreals. To be honest, when I found out about that very "hack", I thought I had CA only to be let down as soon as I opened the doors. Given this was when I first got my car I was disappointed
