Does Cold Weather Make The Turbos Quieter (w/ DCI)
The temp has dropped here in Dallas and I can't really hear the whoosh anymore now that the weather is less than 50 degrees. On really cold mornings, less than 40 degrees, the whoosh is almost totally gone. Am I the only one to notice this?

Maybe it's just me. I have a 535i, vs a 335i, and the thick black insulation mat on the inside of my hood really quiets my DCIS/Engine down by a fair bit. I probably need to check the connections again to make sure I don't have an air leak somewhere.

Maybe it has something to do with the fluids and turbos being so cold that they dont spin as freely as in the summer when you start it off in hot weather. Once the car is warm though, they should be louder.

I checked everything around the DCI and it looks as tight as the day I installed it. I just think the colder air reduces the sound of the turbos. I still hear air moving to the DCI but the turbo spin sound is 25% of what is was when the the temps were above 50/60 degrees. This am it is 27 degrees and there was zero turbo spool sound.

Turbos should whine louder when cold. I don't know about the whooshing sound.
