Valve head cover help on the e90 330

A little help with a friends car. He has a 330 e90 with the NA engine. The valve head cover appears to be leaking oil. I own 3 M3's and have done the valve adjustment on my S54 a couple of times and removing the VHC is no big deal but the e90 appears to have a valvetronic part that the e46 does not have. Anything special removing this? Also I read where you must use a torque angle protractor to replace the VHC bolts. What is the exact torque to do this? I understand that the VHC in this car is magnesium so the torque and use of new bolts/gasket is crutial to keeping the VHC from leaking. BTW on the S54 the VHC bolts just "bottom out" and go no tighter. I have not had any oil leaks on my cars so I am trying to save him few $$$ by DIY'ing thanks,
Oh and this is the best DIY I have found so far:

Usually when it is leaking is because there are broken bolts. mine had 2 broken bolts. It is really easy to take out the part of the bolt that is broken. Take a really small screw driver and turn the bolt. Look at the top right of the picture

You need new bolts and new valve cover gasket. It is a pain in the ass to do, fairly straight forward but time consuming.

You don't need to add any sealant to the gasket because of the design of the head. You need new bolts since they can only be used once. and if I remember correctly its 7 pounds.

I didn't write a DIY but I hope this picture helps. You need to remove the fuel rail, the left stabilizer bar and tuck the coil wires to the left of the head.

the pictures will help.
Is taking off the "valvetronic" part of the process difficult?
