I have never understood tunes on stock cars, or people that think that tunes are the fix all for performance. Most higher end cars are actually tuned pretty good from the factory. A tune should should be used to compliment and take advantage of modifications that have been made. I think a lot of people forget that. I wish that HP Tuners would actually make an application that works for BMWs, that is where true "tuning" comes in. Most of the tunes I have seen for the 328i seem to just be throttle remapping. They aren't actually changing any other variables which I'm shocked that people are dropping $400 for throttle remapping.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I really thought a new 328 is equivalent to the old 330..
The 328i is actually 0.2 seconds slower to 60 at 6.4 compared to 6.2 and 0.1 seconds faster in the quarter @ 14.6 compared to 14.7. So I would say they are pretty close. I got the data from Motor Trend's website.

All I could do is laugh at the arrogance of this punk, hahahah.

Having drove one of the first 335s here and wanting one since it came out must make me not know nothin' hahah, don't want one anymore anyways
The 335i does have 320 hp stock, it's under rated.

This always happens.

A 6MT 328i should do 0-60 right around 6.0 flat. Right from BMW's site (which usually is conservative).

This is like a slap fight. A 10 year old fwd Acura tl-s woll blow his doors off. Your friend is smoking rocks, unless as someone mentioned he has nitrous.

With what he would have had to spend to get to 280' he could have gotten a 335

As Russian as it sounds, Akrapovic not "Akropovic" is actually a Slovenian exhaust manufacturer. They're well known in the motorcycle community, but recently got into car exhausts as well. The make high quality exhaust systems, that are quite expensive. I just checked out their website, and I don't see any exhausts, tunes for a 328. I smell B.S here....--> http://www.akrapovic.com/car-exhaust/products/bmw/

Once you've got some red cyba scoops installed that 328 and accord won't stand a chance!

He is right the 335i N54 twin turbo is quite a bit under rated by the factory. The 335i was posting figures that were equal to or better in some cases compared to the E46 M3. Which was lighter and had more power. Also, it was faster then other competeing manufacturers 300hp cars making similar power.

So Automobile magazine did an article where they took a stock N54 335i and put it on dyno to verify these rumors. After the article it was proven that the car was quite a bit under rated from the factory and was making a lot more then BMW was advertising.

Here is an article for you to read.
http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...ter/index.html

Also, there are other dyno charts available on the internet that verify the same thing. Almost every one knows that N54 335i were under rated cars from the factory.

The person you were arguing with might have been wrong on maybe other accounts but he was not wrong on the fact that 335i are under rated from factory.

Right, and my butt dyno puts my 328 at 1200hp, I'm keeping up with the Veyron SS.

Your friend claims aren't wort crap unless he has dyno results.

and a stock 335 has roughly 305hp at 300lb-ft of torque the 335is is rated at 320hp at 330lb-ft of torque

"with all due respect bro, not even dinan or [insert name of whatever tuner the boys in nj respect these days, such as Unique Auto ]has a 328 tune that comes anywhere close. I think maybe Someone is lying to your cousin. Did they give either of you a dyne printout? I just don't buy it."

This let's him and his cuz save face. Dares him to prove the world otherwise.

Alternatively, grow a set and invite him to comment on this thread. He'll get edumacated real fast.

Just let the guy believe what he wants to believe, he'll get educated the hard way if he tries to race someone. No sense in arguing ... don't let his antics bother you.
