Plod is clamping down on the use of "parking sensors" with a recent case reported on BBC website. Standard fine is 6 points and £85.

I can vouch for Tony's recommendation, they did an install for another good friend of mine.
Separately have always hoped I should be fine should a question arise because we actually have an electric garage door and gate which could be operated using the 'parking sensors', these also double up as 'electric door openers'. Two front and two rear sensors kit means you're protected e both front and rear 'bumps'. Sensors lead to a small junction box (controller) that powers and processes everything. This type of kit works very well and has gone off many times for few seconds (turns off automatically). Downside, the kit I have can go crazy near airport radars but there is a manual override switch to turn it off. It was only marginally more expensive than a front only kit. As always the user should exercise caution and drive responsibly. Laser park pro was a good one, better ones mights be out now. |

@flyfs6 - my version comes set to manual although you can set it up the sensors to switch off after a certain time period too. In 1 year i've had 1 occasion to use them. <10% over at 3am in a 60! No houses near by, just a convenient place to make some money. As Tony's recommendation, i'm only picking car up there. My mum lives in North Harrow area and sister in East Finchley so somewhere nearer to there would be better as i don't want be hanging about while they work. |
