Its funny that the dealership sends one of their minions to come do their dirty work, get info and then bs his way out of the thread lmao... Typical corporate goon mentality. The car business needs more regulations and I hate regulations, I am a mortgage banker and I have been regulated to death... Bottom line is, faulty product needs to be fixed. It almost killed the OP and GOD knows who else, what if this happened again and it actualy does kill someone? Talk about liability, BMWNA might as well pack up and move to the Moon.

It is beginning to appear that The Penske Automotive Group has BMWNA by the diminutive folicles.
Grow a set BMW and get this case investigated. This makes me more and more appreciative of my dealer and glad to not be in the Phoenix area, ahem, Scottsdale. Pardon the blunder.

To anyone who questions what arguru wants or doubts his motives are for this:
First, I do not represent or know arguru. But I have followed this from the get go, and I want to point out very clearly, arguru brought this to the forum looking for help on his issue and relate his rather scary experience. At no time was he looking for this to become some public spectacle. And, in my opinion, he showed a lot of restraint in keeping this issue to this forum with how he was being treated by "his" dealership and by BMWNA. He even respected their wishes to "take a breather" during the holidays. Now, the holidays end, and the same ole, same ole is occurring. Let me stress this for everyone reading this as I believe some are missing this, THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE ON ANY 3 SERIES! It' still not clear to me that this is just because of active steering. arguru, if you understand at this point why this occurred, and you are comfortable this is an event that realistically is 1 in a million and you were the unlucky one, I'd like to hear the believed cause from your point of view. So, if I were arguru, at this point, since I've been put through so much to get my car fixed, I'd want all the faults resolved by a mechanic, a full write up on the cause of each fault, and the fix that was made to clear each fault. I'd then want the wheels fixed/replaced, and then I'd want a public apology from the GM of the dealership in question. And finally, if I were BMWNA, I'd make it darn clear the causes of arguru losing his steering at highway speeds and why the rest of the 3 series owners out there should or should not be concerned about this problem moving forward. What caused it, who is affected, etc. Until then, if I were arguru, I wouldn't be happy with the end result. |

Yeah, that's why I haven't really bought in to the conspiracy theories. We should set up a separate thread "Scottsdale BMW Cover-up Theories"

BMW is too busy covering their own ass in anticipation of a lawsuit (class action or otherwise) to worry about giving you any iota of customer service. They will refuse to do anything publicly or admit anything privately which will in any way implicate themselves as at fault. From the details, it sounds like they are hiding information that may just do that.
Best case scenario is after the media attention more people come forward with similar problems and the NHTSA gets involved to properly resolve this. Unfortunately the 'four rings' doesn't exactly have a stellar track record for customer service either: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-up-Megathread |

LOL I once took my friend's new Porsche in for service and had a disagreement over what should be covered by warranty. I mean every dealership is different, most treat you well when you rubber stamp everything they say and whip out the AMEX. It's when you don't agree, I think that's where the Japanese car dealerships seem to be a little different. This thread demonstrates that BMW will fight you until you're worn away to nothing but a knub. that being said, so might the other German mfgs. Something happens when you lose a world war. LOL
