Awaiting a boat

How long is it usually for it to get onto a ship? My car is complete. I figure
3-5 days.

2 days to port of exit usually -- then it depends on the line to get on a vessel. It took mine about 5 days...

I dont think i can lock in that rate of .00200 Because thats an 07 rate i can lock an 08 rate in but this 08 rate is high. So if the car comes the third week of october the rates in november probaly will just drop. So thats what my plan is.

Mine is at the docks waiting for to load up as well. Mine's going to the west coast though. I'm guessing it'll come around the 3rd week of October. I wonder if that's late enough so that the November rates can take effect (assuming that it's lower). Not sure how that works though.

I plan to lease as well mainly b/c the payments would be too high if i purchased and secondly I might want a different car in 3 years.

OK can someone please help me. I want to see the actual difference between leasing with a .00275MF and a .00200MF. Here is my breakdown
invoice with options is 48160+des/handling 775+ 2k over invoice = 50935
puttin nothing down towards car just plates fees taxes etc... I would greatly appreciate if someone cna work those lease numbers out for me 24/36 months both 12k miles. So i can see the exact difference on how much the money factor increase changes my payment. Thank you very much.

I'm new at this but making a few assumptions, I calculate:

0.00275/36 months: $833/month, $1700 due at signing
0.00200/36 months: $768/month, $1600 due at signing
0.00275/24 months: $915/month, $1900 due at signing
0.00200/24 months: $845/month, $1700 due at signing

I would need to know more for more accurate figures, like the MSRP and the tax rate in your county. And I still could be wrong, because like I said, I'm new at this. So far my numbers have agreed with a couple of the more complicated lease calculators that I've used.

The spreadsheet I used is attached. It is nice and simple, although it doesn't have much flexibility.

You dont need the msrp because the price i posted was the exact figure which will be worked out(but it is 52279+775=53045)... And you dont need the tax rate because i am paying it upfront(but if you must its 8.125). Now that 1700 is that towards the cost of the car if soo that is the only thing i didnt want(want 0 towards the car). Because taxes and fees is probaly going to be a bout a 2500-3k total out of pocket.

I needed the MSRP because the residual value is based on MSRP, not the negotiated value. I believe the "due at signing" number is the refundable security deposit, which is twice the monthly payment rounded up to the nearest $50. It's been a while since I did the spreadsheet so I don't remember exactly. But it's not a "cap cost reduction", which everyone preaches against. The taxes are rolled into the payment.

Gotta run now but I'll try to run your numbers with taxes paid up front if I get a chance later.

I went back and verified that the numbers I gave above are correct, according to two other widely used lease calculators. I noticed that one of them has a selection for "New York lease calculation", which changes how taxes are calculated, to your advantage. It actually does not let you pay the taxes up front if you select the NY calculation, and the monthly tax payments are less than in other states.

One more thing -- If the 8.125% tax rate is what you pay in local stores, the tax rate on a vehicle might be less. For example, I pay 8.1% is most stores around here but the last time I bought a car I paid 5.1%.

Anyway, with 8.125% tax, I calculate:

0.00275/36 months: $793/month, $1593 due at signing
0.00200/36 months: $730/month, $1480 due at signing
0.00275/24 months: $871/month, $1771 due at signing
0.00200/24 months: $804/month, $1654 due at signing

BTW, the "due at signing" is actually the first month's payment plus a refundable security deposit equal to one payment rounded up to the next $50.

No the 8.125% is my tax rate for my zip and these numbers seem more in what i was thinking. Thank you very much for taking the time out and doing these calculations. BMW WTF

P.S. Do you or anyone else think the rates will drop back to .00200MF for november 1st? or they will stay consistant threw out the new year? Because these rates are only effective until OCT 31st.
