Help! SMOKING under hard acceleration

Hey every one! I have searched threads and cannot find anything!
Here's the problem, while making a long distance trip (5 hours) my car (2008 328i) out of no where blew out an insane amount of white smoke from the exhaust and the oil light came on. I checked the oil level and it was low, so I added more until it was at appropriate level. I started it up and everything was fine until the trip back home. I had to constantly pull over to add oil and any time I would accelerate hard, it would blow out smoke. The car is not leaking oil externally, does not smoke on start up, is fine on coolant level, and does not blow out smoke if I accelerate hard while in park or neutral. I am really confused with the issue and would like to do the work myself. Has anyone had this issue??

Possibly a bad head gasket, burning oil is definitely not a good thing. And its probably gonna cost a good amount to repair. I hope its something else.

I doubt it's the head gasket but something definitely popped loose.

It's a bad habit, you should consider quitting.
