RE960 pole position RFT in snow?

Hi Guys,

I just put the new RE960 RFT on my 335d and am wondering about the snow traction -- I was up at Snowshoe WV last weekend and am going back in a few weeks, and might need to drive myself. Friends of mine had F250/F350 4wd's that handled things great, but I'm concerned about my traction level getting up there.

If it comes down to it I can rent something, but I'm not guaranteed 4wd in that either. (Also going to have to get the ski rack for my car it would appear...)

What say ye?

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT

Ok, I have had these tires (205/55RF-16 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT ) on my car (2008 328i) for about 6,000 miles now. I put them on during the beginning of fall (2012) and I really like them. I drive through some winter weather in Cleveland, Ohio and they do well. I was worried that I would need snow tires but since driving through a couple of storms, I have gained a ton of confidence in these tires. For powder and slush, no problem whatsoever. The only time I notice the traction control kick in is when the slushy snow is deeper than 2-3 inches. Then I notice the car looking for bite with the tires and the traction control takes over. Depending on how roads are plowed and salted really makes a difference. I don't have anything to compare them too except for summer tires so unfortunately my opinion on winter driving in a BMW is limited to this winter, but we have had alot of snow fall. I give these tires two thumbs up

Short of going with dedicated winter tires, the RE960A/S is about as good as it gets for winter traction.

Gary, any word on when you're going to have the winter results in for the re960? The site says that winter results are 'pending'...
