Did you ever think about getting an M3? lol! The rumor on the board is that 2011 will be the last production year for the E9X M3.

Other then that, Audi A5/S5? C63AMG? E550? The new Jeep Cherokee SRT8 will be coming out soon (I seriously thought about that one). The Jeep is going after the title of worlds fastest SUV. It used to hold the title untill the Cyanne and X5M/X6M came out.

IMO, tough to beat the performance of a modded 335i at this altitude w/o spending a lot more money or sacrificing the back seat, driveability, reliability, etc.

Could always go with meth and/or nitrous until there are more upgraded turbos available. It may come down to whether you want more performance or just want something different.

A Kia would make a nice downgrade if I was every in the market for a gas saver. One time I rented a Kia Soul and the old lady liked it but she said that she would not own one. $575 for an alignment is outrageous unless there is more done to a corner balancing then what I am thinking. Ask them specifically what is done.

I thought about an M3 awhile back when I took my car in for service at Ralph Schomp and almost traded it is for a white E93 M3. C63AMG is nice but does not beat the look of a CLK63AMG. That's my dream car. Ask Matt and Andrew. I don't like the look of the Audi's and if I was to get an SUV, I would want to new Panamera but that price it out the door.

Matt, I agree that my 335 is probably one of the best cars that I have owned and modded. I've modded a lot in the past but mostly Honda's and Mitsubishi's. Andrew is still trying to talk me into some meth and a small shot of NOS. Some upgrades sound nice but I heard horrible stories of people who have kept their BMW/Mercedes past the bumper to bumper warranty.

Would you really consider the Panamera an SUV? Isn't it considered a sedan?

I belive that Audi is set to release the RS5 here in a little while. Maybe worth holding out for that.

Actually I would call it a crossover type vehicle. I've read about the RS5 in a car magazine and it does look promising. I've always liked the RS4 but the maintenance on those suck too.

You gotta pay to play right? :-). Seriously though - nothing else can touch it for the money (at least nothing stock with a warranty). And I'm sure the after market will bring down the cost of rotors/pads significantly.

Are you more interested in having the fastest car you can get or the most fun car? Upgrading your turbos will make your car faster but it is still the same car. Dont get me wrong, I love my 335. However, I felt it was time to get a new car because I started seeing more and more wear and tear on my 335 so I thought I better get out before it gets too costly.

I was watching a bunch of M3 vs ??? reviews by C&D and places like that yesterday on youtube and even though the M3 wasn't always the fastest or best looking car, 99% of all the reviews said it was the most fun to drive. That is what I really care about.

I really don't care about having a fast car. I rather would have a fun car that I could drive. For example, my last car before the Bimmer was a Supercharged S2000. Those weren't fast but it was a blast to drive. Especially around the mountains. I would rather drive that then a Corvette. Corvette's are fast, just not fun.

I agree, corvettes can be lightning fast but I hear that the ride and comfort and quality is not very good. I dont know why they still have such ugly interiors.

I like the way this thread has turned... i.e. fun vs fast. Would anyone consider an E30 M3 or an E46 330 ZHP? I have not driven either but can imagine that they are fun to drive.

What about a mk VI GTI? Golf R would be a fun car but would not sell in the US at > $50k.

I've driven the E30 M3 and E46 M3. Those are fun. If you really want to try a fun car, go try an Acrua NSX or a Honda S2000. 9000 RPM redline is like music to your ears.

My brother drives an NSX - definitely a great fun car!

Garage List
2001 BMW 540i/6  [8.17]
1994 530i  [9.00]
2007 335i Coupe  [8.37]
993 porsche turbo? F355 Ferrari? or are 2-seaters completely out of the question. E55 AMG? Or are you looking for a brand new car, just not a new to you car? You can find used M5's for pretty good deals (E39 and E60), but maintenance will kill you.

The Panamera is officially a "4-door coupe"...what ever that means.

What about waiting for the new 1M coming out next year? I anticipate keeping my 3-series for a while, but I am not one to get rid of cars unless they break...if you saw my 5-series, you would know I'm a little obsessive with trying keep things running.

I think upgrading the turbos would be pretty cool...the RB Turbos look like they will be pretty sick when they come out.

I like Racey's idea of considering the 1M.

I don't think I like the look of the 1 series. My work had a 135i with the M package So I see it everyday. It's been a couple months now I still can't get use to looking at it. It looks like a 3 series that got rear ended and ran into the car in front of it. No offense to 1 series owners but not just my taste. Plus, everyone tends to think that the 1 series looks like a chicks car.

I kind of agree. I wouldnt pick up a 1 but I still think they can come out kinda cool. They rank high on the mod factor. Someone at my school has a completely modded out 1 with frozen grey paint and everything.

So after 2 pages of this thread, what direction are you leaning towards?

Kinda still weighing in on cost. I haven't gotten a quote on upgraded turbos yet and I'm still in between what kinda car I should get. I even considered a Grand Sport Edition Vette yesterday because I get such awesome deals on them.
