E91 LCI with CIC IDrive, production date 5/2009

I'm trying to clean up the music collection left over from previous owner. I've been reading through the manual for a number of times but cannot find the option to delete individual tracks or the the entire library.

Pressing option or switching the controller to the right when on top of track/album only brings options to turn on random play or split screen. There's no option to delete anything or see the amount of free memory left on the HDD.

Is this a feature of an ancient IDrive firmware or am I just doing it wrong?

Sounds like there is a problem with the firmware. You should be able to right click on the controller to be able to delete a song or folder.

Click Menu and choose Music collection, then hit the option button on the iDrive controller. You should see the choice to delete music collection which will remove all music saved. Or if you just want to remove a folder select that folder and hit the option button.

That's the thing: the option menu just doesn't show up.

I'll have the car reprogrammed next week, let's see it that sorts it out.

Problem solved, reprogramming did the trick.
