quick question...Why do you guys have to wait for your cars to be delivered? Shouldnt you get it the same day you buy it?

You order what car you want, like colors and options. And then BMW have to build the car.

BTW, the car looks beautiful

Thanks for all the comments. It is p*****g down this morning but hopefully will brighten up this afternoon so I can take a few more interior shots (just for Carlos!).

The ride is better than I was expecting on the RFTs and 19"s, firm but actually not that uncomfortable. Seeing as most of my driving will be on the Motorways and not avoiding potholes around town the 'firmness' of the suspension and tyres will be just right.

A few very minor niggles; the arm that comes out to assist in getting hold of the seatbelt appears to be a little flimsy and I havent quite worked out what triggers its operation (engine on maybe). When I get out of the car and release the seatbelt, the buckle seems to hit the door glass every time, I need to condition myself to do this slowly. Maybe I am just not used to a two door coupe with large doors.

I have tried to start reading the manual (Carlos take note) it is a huge tome, and maybe I shall just play by trial and error and refer to the 'instructions' in extremis! I haven't really tried the Voice control system yet (there is no way I would have paid extra for this), this might be a bit of a gimmick but maybe I will eventually find it useful. Does anyone know if I can set the central locking to fold the electric door mirrors using the key?

My Orange SPV M3100 PDA phone paired straight away with the Bluetooth and I appear to have full functionality. Numbers transfered OK and the system seems to be OK, despite the Dealer saying that I may experience a few difficulties as it was not on the approved BT list.

The iPod works really well with the 6FL cable, havent located the random track facility yet though. First long trip will be tomorrow morning heading up the M6/M74 to Glasgow, hopefully I will get a better MPG than I have managed so far (22.5MPG ) and that is keeping a reasonable speeds!

Pete, all currently produced Windows Mobile 5 (post-AKU2) & 6 smartphones should be fully compatible with the car's bluetooth.

Dealers don't seem to have a clue about compatibility, without referring to their 'out of date' phone firmware sheets!

On a good day, looking from my house as far up the river to the right as possible, I can just make out the Erskine Bridge.

You should check, but a few weeks ago roadworks were being carried out at M8 junction 30 for the Erskine Bridge cut off. I can't rememember if it was west or east bound, but the diversion was via junction 31.

Thanks Gordon, I just checked Traffic Scotland, there is still a contraflow on the M8 around Erskine but the bridge is still accessible via Junc 30. I am flying to Southampton from Glasgow Airport early Wednesday so I need to make sure I dont get delayed on the M8, thanks for the warning though.

This is getting quite spooky ... my parents flew to Southampton on Friday morning (sailing last night).

The amount of roadworks at the stretch of motorway around the airport over the last couple of years has been extraordinary. I usually find if you are on the M8 before 7:30 you get a good clear run. The nearer you are to 8:00am the more congested it can be.

Thats a good journey to test the 335d - let us know how you get on.

Is it so different where you live Sara? If you want something specific the dealer might not have it. Most dealer's "lots" are full of used cars, not new ones. So unless you are lucky and find a dealer with a new car with the exact spec that you want you have to order it and wait 12 or so weeks (or more) for it to be built and delivered.

Some people choose to wait longer to get a new registration on it - a bizarre situation where a car with a newer plate (e.g. 57 vs 07) will attract more value even though the car could be the same age as an 07 plate!!!!!

Really nice car I hope you will be really pleased with your new 335d coupe. The pics of your collection at Bateman BMW took me a trip down memory lane. I used to live in the lake district and have brought a number of cars from there old showroom in Lindale. If Andy is still the service manager he is a really top bloke and will look after your car well going forward. The only other person I know there now is John Bond in Sales.

I now live in the South of England otherwise I would get my car from them also. I have a 335d M Sport on Order for end Oct/Start Nov delivery. I orginally went Le Mans and Beige and an now Sapphire and Beige. (Your Le Mans pics are stunning especially with the 19" rims my spec has gone to the factory otherwise I would be thinking again!). The grey interior looks great with wood poplar get yourself some good quality leather cleaner and conditioner and it will clean up well from time to time no probs.

safe motoring in your stunning new car.

best wishes

Peter
