I've done the searches and found plenty to read but doesn't fully answer my questions.

Just bought a load of snow foam (impulse purchase). I have a mid range Karcher with a built in detergent tank. You just pull out the tube and sit it in the bottle of whatever so thought this would work but I'm confused now as the posts suggest I would need a seperate foam gun.

Any advice would be appreciated guys

I purchased a seperate foam gun which inserts into the lance, went for the cheap option (Karcher) and found it works ok. Many on here have purchased expensive types to get a good clinging foam mix, try a search I am sure you will find a few options.

The Karcher tube will foam, but it will be weak.

Karcher tube will be rubbish. I have one of these:

Sounds like a lot of cash for not much, but it works a treat.

1/2 inch of snowfoam in the bottom of the bottle topped off with warm water will do the whole car.

I have exactly the same device and with very little snowfoam concentrate topped up with water, absolutely covers the car with a good clinging foam.

I leave it to soak for 10 mins and then powerwash off before snowfoaming again and then use a lambswool mitt to clean the car. You can feel that all the grime and grit has already been loosened and then rinsed off before the mitt even touches the paintwork.

The neighbours think I am nuts

PS: dont buy a hosepipe one, they are crap compared to the pressure washer type.

Thanks guys, that pretty much answers it. As an aside, I bought 20 litres of the stuff (4 x 5 bottle for less than £20 plus £6 p&p and it was delivered in 2 days.
obviously haven't tried it yet but they have excellent feedback.

That will last for ever - you only need a little bit in the bottle, and then top up with warm water. I use about a 1/2 inch of snowfoam concentrate and then fill up with warm water. Second time round (when I am actually going to 'clean' the car) I add a capful of wash/wax type stuff in as well. Read that tip on detailing world.

I wash the cars every couple of days, even if not used, we've got high hedges and hundreds of feathered dumpsters, (never knew they could produce so much shit).

I've got a Renault Trafic as well and that's washed at least once a week so I'm not convinced yet about how long it'll last.

I'm actually just back in from giving mine a quick wash. As everyone is saying, only a small drop of concentrate is needed in the bottle to produce a good amount of foam. Recently I've actually been going for a more diluted/runny foam, rather than thick stuff, with the view that too much of it will start to eat away at the wax (read that on detailingworld.com)
