I have the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta for 3 weeks (600 miles). I love them. They stick really well and seem to be very responsive.

I recently put on some V12s on my car (~1500 miles so far). They grip well, but the sidewalls are very soft. During hard cornering, the car can feel somewhat unstable.

Food for thought on cheap tires...

The Sumitomo tires are rated pretty high by the TireRack staff. They say it would beat the V12 which scored 2nd in the Car&Driver tests. They say it might have won it all. That's pretty high praise considering that the baseline tire they compared the winners to was the Michelin PS2. I believe from 3rd place up that they said those tires from the budget tire comparison performed better than the PS2.

I haven't any basis for choosing one of those over the other. But I can offer that were I having to make the decision, I would find a website that evaluates them on the points of grip (hot, cold, and wet) and noise. I would choose the one that best meets my priorities on those measures. They are all reputable brands, so I wouldn't have any compunction about them in that regard.

Good luck.

It depends on your needs.

Personally, I think the Hankook Ventus V12 is a pretty well rounded summer performance tire. It's affordable, quiet, and offers great grip. A major downside to this tire is its sidewall strength, in my opinion. It has super soft sidewalls, and when it's pushed to its limits it leaves a bit to be desired.

Of these the only tire I would actually trust and I've had experience with is vredestein and they were wonderful tires, just hard to find out here sometimes and the Continentals I've been running the last couple years are better.
