Colour Choice
I'm getting ready to order a new e91, by hook or by crook I WILL have an M-Sport this time.
Just picking which colour to have, and bearing in mind I have Sparkling Graphite, I'm a bit stuck which to go for. That's not the point of the post (unless anyone wants to help!). The point was, there's not exactly a thrilling choice of colours. White, Silver, Dark Silver, Blue Silver, Blue, Black. If I want to stump up £1,300 there are a few more choices of Silver or Black. So. IF you knew BETTER than BMW, what single colour would you add to their line up? Green? Orange? P.S. Even though I had Sparkling Graphite last time, I'm going for Space Grey (well, for now, I keep changing my mind) this time. Can't make my mind up if Bluewater suits the E91...

Bluewater is lovely on an e92, but really don't know if it would work on an e91

Alpine White, looks great on an M-Sport and quite classy. I'm not a huge fan of bluewater as I think it's a bit feminine ever since MB did the SLK in a similar colour.

Ayup mate. What you doing on here?
White's a no no - depreciates too much. Apparently. TiAg - I would always have gone for that, but on the LCI is looks like they just forgot to paint it. Is it lighter on the LCI? I keep thinking Space Grey, but worried it's "the same" as sparkling graphite. Plus, both are basically silver. Still a lot of silver about. Derby have a Le Mans E91 (pre LCI), looks lovely, although it is spotlessly clean. Keep switching between Grey or Le Mans. Currently settled on Le Mans.

I'm a bit worried Le Mans is it little old fashioned, and if I pick grey, I'll spend the next x years saying "No, it is in fact a different colour". I think space grey looks the best, though. Mrs isn't keen on LeMans, either.

The best time is just when the sun is going down. A few of the colours like Bluewater, Lemans & Spark Graph look very dull unless they are clean and polished/waxed. My choice for the OP question would be Space Grey or Tiag. |

I've seen (I think) a Sparkling Graphite LCI, so I think it was a little later. Le Mans: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=96 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...22&postcount=7 Titantium Silver (TiAg): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=322 Space Grey: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=294 Putting these links hear rather than keep endlessly (sp?) searching. Avoided anything that's dropped or has wheels... but found a white LCI that does look good... White LCI: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=364 Sparkling Grpahite (for comparison) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=397

Le mans blue is awesome on the tourer, but the missus hated it. Went for TiAG in the end - very pleased with it as it also looks great when its filthy which is perfect winter months. It is a very light silver - looks white in bright sunshine - but it is the same as pre lci. It also hides scratches well and shines up great too, also not too hot in the summer compared to the dark colours - useful with kids. |
