E92 Base Audio newest aftermarket upgrade help

I've been searching and i've come to the conclusion i don't think individual audio retrofit is worth it, alpine hifi sounds awful right now in terms of bass and clarity when played loudly and i want something else.

Anyone know any good plug and play solutions? I'm trying to figure out, Technic 2/4 harness so it just plugs into the under seat subs like the alpine hifi did.

I'm not sure what speakers and tweeters that are plug and play for the car besides MB Quart. I definitely want a good signal sensing dsp amp or something. Earthquake SWS8 underseat subs.

If anybody has any good plug and play solutions that fit my budget of like $500-700 and sounds better than the oem HK or alpine hifi id appreciate it.

All the forum posts are old and all the equipment everyone recommends is old/outdated/discontinued. Also don't wanna run anything besides 1 amp, i wanna make this simple but really good.

Technic has three levels of Base system harness depending
on how far you want to go.

Bimmertech and Bavsound have plug and play setups using
the Helix 86dsp and BMW7 dsp amps respectively.

I know bimmertech had a base system plug and play kit not
sure about bavsound. Includes harness.

Pretty hard to do absolute easy plug and play with a base system
because you need harness to the trunk and maybe coding to Hi Fi.
I believe this is included in the Bimmertech kit.
You should also at least get a new set of speakers for everything
up front.
There are lots of plug and play speaker sets for the front's now.
Jehnert , Helix Match ,Rockford Fosgate, Audio Systems see audio build
thread speaker list.

I would go with the Helix Match speaker sets for the front's
Next level would be Jehnert xe 200's for the underseats
and Morels for the doors.

Price wise 700 would be low for kit that probably would only barely
cover the amp/dsp and then another 500 to 700 for a set of quality
front speakers.

I've recently decided on using The Audison Prima line, still waiting on a couple of pieces before I tackle the instal. It's plug & play and they have all their own harnesses .

https://www.audison.eu

There was also the Boxmore packs from Gladden

the audison dsp/amps tend to be underpowered.

I would go with the Mosconi Gladen Combo.

audison ap8.9

Load Imp. 8 Channels 4 Channels (bridge)
4 Ohm 35 W x 8 130 W x 4
2 Ohm 65 W x 8

Even the lowest rated Mosconi is 60 watts a channel at 4 ohms.

you're correct the older 8.9bit was only rated for 35*8, however the newer Forza 8.9bit is 85*8 into 4ohm. It's also expensive, but sure.

Also, i think the Mosconi you mention is a 4 channel (not 8), the equivalent Audison 4 channel (with dsp) is 75 *4 into 4ohm

But you don´t need 8 channels, you can hook up fronts (doors/mirrors) to 1-2 and drive under-seats with 3-4 channels... hence 4 channel amp is right... unless you want to go active and run high/mids/bas/sub separately = 7/8 channel w DSP

I think the value in the 8 channel is bridging 4 of the channels to drive the underseats, and still having 2 channels for the rears.

Having said that, I recently purchased the 4 channel Audison amp I mentioned above to do exactly as you said, key being I've swapped out the 4ohm underseats with 2ohms.

at that site don't mention which one they use.

Sound system upgrade

A little late to the party but here is what I did.

Went with Bavsound Speakers Stage 1 I have a 2011 e92
So installed the tweets and mids in doors and mids in rear side panels.

Bavsound under seat subs.

Bimmertech DSP 86 i think it is.

Sound was pretty good but still lacked the punch and rumble of a real Sub woofer.

Used to install stereos back in the late 80s and love me some sub and mid bass punch.

So went with a Hertz 10" dual voice coil sub and Sealed enclosure. Added a Hertz Sub woofer amp as well. Cant remember how many watts but can get that info later.

Now I used the computer to play around with the DSP but recently got a new battery so don't know if Bimmertech amp reverts to default stock settings.

But sound it clear, punchy and hits bass deep.

The beauty of having the Bimmertech amp is that each set of speakers only plays the proper frequencies that they were designed to play. This is HUGE as the sound can be cranked louder and you will not have any "listener fatigue" from numerous sets of speakers producing the same frequency .

The Sub amp install was simple and well my speaker box isn't screwed down as I move it around in the trunk when I have golf clubs and cart in there.

Keep in mind that sure, the Items I mentioned are as some say pricey. But I installed all the speakers myself and saved the $$$ from the install, and everything is Plug and Play. So I had installed all the speakers in about 2 hours and the amp in about 1 hour.

Just my opinion but sound stage is right infront of me and cranks when I want it.

I actually decided to go through a similar setup, I'm about to buy the BimmerTech 86 DSP amp, I bought the BimmerTech alpha one speakers, next I'm gonna figure out what sub and sub amp to install, hoping it sounds great

Hope you didn't get the Earthquakes. With a sub in the trunk, you need mid-bass from under the seats. The L7 or IA drivers do that well, and are inexpensive. The Earthquakes absolutely cannot reproduce mid-bass, and are a terrible choice as components in an advanced system.

I currently have L7 underseat subs, my defective alpine retrofit amp actually blew the drivers side sub so I replaced it with another L7, but the alpha one speakers I bought was the full set including the underseats

If you act quickly, there's a guy selling a corner mount sub enclosure (music car) on this forum.

Otherwise, if you want a corner mount, your next best bet is ordering a custom made one from the UK, which is actually cheaper than the used one mentioned above. I have this one and can testify to its quality and the like.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F152913063185

You just need to tell the guy what exact sub you intend to put into the enclosure, and he will make it custom to that sub.

It's sort of hard to go wrong, if you buy a JL Audio Amp & Sub.
