Cleaning O2 sensors
I came across a video on youtube where a guy was cleaning his 528i O2 sensors with light sandpaper and brake cleaner. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Is it worth attempting, or is this too harsh?

I had a service engine light and I just took brake cleaner on a rag and rubbed the black stuff off the O2 now the service light is gone!

I know replacing these throws a code, but is it as simple as clearing it with a scan tool, or does something need reprogrammed for the new sensors? |

My brother replaced all four of them. We didn't have to code the O2 for them to work.
