Remaps on 325d lci

Getting frustrated looking for a 330d now so looking at potentially getting a 325d and remapping it.

What sort of power are people getting and who is the map done by?

Quick look on superchips and there claiming 270bhp and 600nm.

Is that achievable to run sensibly without any problems?

Change the injectors and you'll see the same power as a remapped 330d.

Stock injectors will goto 270ish.

The engine is basically identical to the 330d, and there are plenty of those around with 280-300hp without issues, so no reason to think the 325d would be any different.

That's for a pre-LCI M57 engined 325d, the LCI N57 engined 325d is the exact same engine & injectors and both remap to circa 300bhp.

It's an ECU out job for the LCI though, not just an OBD remap, but a few places can do it.

true enough, but arent most of the 325d's the M57?

Unlike the 30d, the 325 didnt get the N series until almost the end of production, circa mid 2010?

Which is why I gave the detail regarding the engine codes, it's not quite as simple as pre & post LCI unfortunately, but between us we have covered both engine options.

I've got a 2008 325d, is it just the injectors? If that's done, will it have to be a custom map, or would the stock remap from say evolve automatically get the extra bhp? or will it still only give 240bhp

You'll need a custom map to suit the larger injectors.

M47 320d (163hp) ones will work (and are the same as the E46 330d uses), but i'm not sure if they're big enough to get the most out of the engine. The 163 engines tune to about 200hp, so it makes sense that 6 of those would get you about 300hp. I guess you can see if E46 330d engines will get to 300hp on their stock injectors to guage an idea.

The stock 325d injectors are the same as those from the 318d which are puny little things.

Early 535d injectors are also compatible and will definitely be large enough, but ofcourse are rarer.

I have a 325d m57 but mine is a 2009 lci,mine dynoed at 272bhp,430lbft but have since added water meth,I'd say has added 10-15bhp.

Currently at 135k and runs sweet, must do reg services thou. Mine was already mapped.

Just bought a turbo, got to let funds build up again for a hybrid and tune.

So are the m57's 204bhp standard aswel? Or just the n57? If i was to get a 325d would have to be atleast on a 10 plate with all the right spec and then remap it.

Which companies are the best for remaps on these?

M57 is 198bhp standard.

Also, a 10 plate wont guarantee you a N57 engine.

The swap happened sometime during Feb '10 - my 325d is a 2010 (10 plate) car on a Feb '10 build and it has the older M57.

March '10 onward and you should be a dead cert to get the N57 if thats what you want

Don't shoot me for thread jacking but on here many have said that the 330d is the more reliable of the two as it doesn't suffer from chain issues as much?

Theres no mechanical difference with the chains between the whole Mx7 engine range, from 318d thru 335d. Any perceived difference is probably related to the relative rarity of the models or how they're used.

M57's dont really tend to have chain issues at all anyway, do they?

Mostly N series stuff that was imploding.

The M57 is very very reliable, no common chain issues like the N47 for example
