I have a garage but it was so crazy that they were lighting trash cans behind my place so I just wanted to check and make sure. My building hired armed officers to stay on the roof. But only a couple of them were on the ground. The rest were upstairs with a bunch of guns.

I went yesterday, I made a thread for it with pics.

Its worth going, but the new 6 is an upset along with the whole BMW booth. BMW is going backwards compared to what I saw with Jaguar, Nissa, Infinite, etc.

They need to step it up, big.

Remember to sign up for the Land Rover off road test drive before you enter the convention center.

I won't be surprised BMW downsized their display. Many European manufactures did the same thing.
Also this year we missing Ferrari and Lamborghini, but good to see fiat is back int north america.

I couldn't believe Mercedes didn't even have a display at the OC Auto Show.
Every other Manufacture did. Even Lambo/Porsche/Ferrari etc

Wow ...it's just the opposite at la auto this year

Mercedes was launching the new cls and showing most if not all of their AMG series

But you can tell is a major downsizing for many manufacturers compare to previous years

How does it work for signing up? Is there a long line and is there an age requirement?

There's a reception for the drive just outside the convention center

It's first come first serve basis

Thanks for the info. I found the link on their site with the locations. But do you know if there is an age requirement? Like 21+ or 25+? Or just have a valid drivers license?

What? you underage?

I kid...

I actually skipped the test drive (a bit regret)...but seems like you just need a driver licence...maybe above 21 for insurance purpose???

As far as I know, Toyota, Ford, Land Rover, KIA all have test drive events during LA Auto show...most of them only available this weekend.....

Haha, no i'm not underage but i'm not 21+ so I might have to use my brothers license if they have a 21+ age restriction.

Here's the list of cars they have to test drive: http://www.laautoshow.com/TestDrives.html

Its a bit turn off cause most of the manufacturer emphasis on electrical and alternative fuel vehicles.....there's a point i thought I saw more garage installed natural gas / electrical vehicle recharging stations than actual vehicles...

just an fyi, there is free street parking a few streets before the convention center, just look around and you might be able to find a spot.

also, go to the ford booth and you can sign up to test drive the new mustang v6 (or also the 5.0) at the dealer and you get $50 just for test driving it.
