I ended up just ordering a cable and will be having cn555ic do mine remotely after it gets here. I figure if anyone can do it right it's probably him. lol

Hmmm...good demo....but I think you really want to make sure the oil temps are up to at least 210 deg F before revving over 3500 rpm...just saying.

I did it myself. No prior coding experience. Mine was an 09 so I had to also do some more for paddles to work again using NCSExpert. The actual flashing part is trivial, what is somewhat tedious is setting up the software and cable. Note I said tedious, not difficult.

Took a day or so to find and load all the various software, read up on using it, get it set up on my laptop, etc. Used the 39.99 eBay cable.

But I always wanted to learn how to code, just never thought turning LED's on and off (or whatever) was worth the effort. Alpina TCU flash seemed worth the effort and it was. Esp since the tranny seemed to get sloppier and more unpleasant each step up in HP/TQ. I was thinking I need to sell my car and get an MT. Not anymore. I also had some DP's waiting to go in but was hesitating to do the lengthy Xi install. After the TCU flash put them in the following week (myself). Now I want some hybrid turbos...IOW the barrier for me for more engine mods was the AT, now that is gone.

Pretty much sums it up. This platform weakest link for AT owners was the sloppy tranny and with this flash it totally took that out of the equation. Crazy BMW didn't have this from the get go and had to have Alpina offer this to their exclusive Alpina models. That's just crazy

Yeah def still scratching my head over the poor software choice BMW went with, given how much better the tranny works now. Also must thank Cn555 for his guidance & DIY's. And don't forget Tomaz, the guy who let the Alpina cat out of the TCU bag in the first place. Blows my mind this was just sitting there in 48.1 daten all along.
