ATF - Can I use this as a replacement to OEM?

I've never liked OEM BMW oil and I don't honestly think that their ATF is necessarily automatically better than any/all alternatives.

I found this and it claims it's compatible with my vehicle...I was going to use Redline but I'd like to do this today and Redline isn't available locally. Judging by reviews, it appears to be a really good product but I'd like some of your opinions.

Here's the specs from Castrol on this and it's saying it's BMW compatible with LA2634, LT71141; Texaco ETL-7045-E, ETL-8027B, Shell M1375.4 - as OEM is.

If you want to wait, I can get you Red line stuff. I just need a part number. Huge inventory in stock and ships same day if ordered before 6PM ESTD.

They also have a "max ATF" by royal purple. Wich is better? I have heard good things about royal purple but still would like another opinion.

In my experience, unless someone can verify the differences on this specific platform I would stick with what is available.

Most people find that experiences on different platforms yielded more attractive or less attractive results.

I.E. Redline smoothed shifting, or XX made it feel more notchy, ETC

Without many people changing their fluids frequently on this platform, you need to roll the dice on any aftermarket option.

Red Line, Motul, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, and Amsoil are all reputable in their own right.

I would personally use OEM on this car if you dont want any surprises, however, any of the above mentioned should be just as good so as long as they match the ratings required from BMW.

redline d6 has much higher flash point so should take more heat without degradation
