Question Fixing lettering on style 313 BMW Performance Wheels

Hey All,

So I purchased a set of OEM 19" style 313s off a forum member this past weekend. While the wheels in general appear to be in very good condition, one wheel had to be repaired slightly when the shop removing the seller's tires narfed it up. Much to the chagrin of both the seller and me, (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that the truly didn't notice it...) the careless shop painted over the "BMW Performance" lettering on that wheel!

As a result, we agreed to a slightly lower price and now I have to address it. I am guessing that the lettering is paint and not a decal. Anyone have any suggestions on what my options would be to get this fixed? I'm wondering if a good wheel shop could make a stencil of the lettering on one of the "good" wheels and then mask off the wheel and paint it? There are no tires currently mounted on the wheels (and won't be until spring...)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Sickem

Oh no, thats terrible....but there are not any "good" options except for sanding the others off.

Let me know if we can help in any other way

Wheel repair guy sounds like a freakin' tool. I would have told him he owed me a new wheel. Too late for that now I guess.

I would've flipped my lid. But it was the guy I bought them from that had the wheel refinished.

I don't see how removing or installing a tire can damage that section of the wheel. Also that tire shop happened to have a perfect match paint laying around? something's not adding up. I'd be pissed if i was the buyer though, specially because those wheels are not cheap.

Edit: nvm misunderstood the situation. Sucks though

I would get a replacement wheel. This really sucks! They should cover at least 50% of the wheel replacement.

Idiots and thieves are everywhere!! It's a challenge to find intelligent honest people these days.

For some reason I smell a rat.

I just want to be clear that I saw it before I bought the wheels so I could've walked away. it was my decision not to. I just thought it would be a quick fix I'll just aim that wheel at any potholes
