E93 OEM sound system

I have an E93 330d, trying to upgrade the sound system. Read a lot of posts here about adding an amplifier. My car has Professional NAVI and TV. Sound system is the basic one and sounds very bad. Need to know if the loudspeakers are connected straight to the head unit or there is an amplifier somewhere. An installer here told me that because I have pro navigation there must be an additional amp somewhere and I can't add another. Any info on E93 with navi pro?

pro nav just tells u about the iDrive thingie.... the 335 e93 comes standard with Logic 7 in US cars- which includes the extra amp etc.

yes i have i-drive of course. audio unit has separate cd and dvd slots. also there is a changer in the trunk. car is a diesel, 330d, there is no mention in acc list about sound system meaning is the basic on this configuration. need to know if i can add an amp and how or eventually replace the stock one which sounds bad.
