I like the loaner car chime - can I get it on my car?

I have an 06 325. Took my car in for service today, and they gave me a loaner 08 335i. I immediately notice that the start-up chime and the chime when you undo the seatbelt is FAR more pleasant than my car's.

Can the dealer do some kind of software update to change my car's chime noise?

I have the old chime as well, and I've been in cars that don't have idrive and have the newer chime. I think it's just a matter of when the car was produced. Not sure if a sw update would fix it.

Pretty sure there is an update they can do, but not sure anyone knows how to do it. Logic behind my reasoning is because when I got my loaner, the dealer had put a chime and warning symbol saying "Speed Limit Exceeded" whenever I went over 60mph. So, that's "custom" programmed...

Anyway long story short, I had to stay below or above 60 for the thing not to chime everytime I went above 60. I chose the latter option

I think '08 and newer have the better chime. I would like to know how to switch it too.

X...

in I-drive you can select the speed that you get warnings at, or turn it off altogether.

As already mentioned, this is a given option in iDrive. Your reasoning is faulty. The dealers will not have a possibility to update this because they can only work with what BMW gives them..which is fixed updated packages and a few changeable parameters, but apart form that, they can not modify anything
