Request: Spec 2+ Clutch Review

I have seen a few post about the clutch from owners and know Shiv has it in their test mule. But, I was wondering if anyone could give it a more in depth review. The things I am most curious about is the drivability of the clutch in a DD, ie. chatter, stuttering, engagement, engagement point. I am planning on getting the version made for the stock flywheel (SB533H). So if anyone has this one specifically that would be great.

I have the stage 3 clutch/flywheel. I think with the stock flywheel it would be awesome. The lightweight flywheel is noisy, without that it would be perfectly fine. I do have the stage 3 which is obviously a bit different, but you can expect a much smaller engagement point. you get used to it though

Thanks for the input, hopefully someone can chime in that has the stock FW version.

Does the engagement point 'move' as it does in ACTs? (The floor.)

From my understanding, the one made for the stock FW adjust, but the one made for the aluminum FW does not.

I heard they are fantastic clutches. The power holding capacity is actually underrated as Shiv's car endorses this. They also carry a 2+ which can be had with the LWFW. The noise isn't as bad as you may think. I have a 2+ sitting in my garage waiting to be installed.

To each his own, but I like the dampening effect of the DMFW that keeps noises and vibrations to a minimum.

They have been growing in popularity and we've sold quite a few. Hopefully some customers can chime in!

Someone has to have this clutch with the stock FW and can speak to its drivability?

Hey all,

I've been meaning to write here about my experience with the Spec stg2+ clutch and LWFW.....

I like it! It did take getting used to, but once I adapted to it and the clutched settled in, it felt good. As far at the chatter noise from the flywheel, it's on and off. Sometimes I'll be at the lights and I would hear nothing. Sometimes I'll hear some chatter. If I play my music at a normal hearing level, you barely hear it. Doesn't bother me at all.

I've launched the car a couple times with the new clutch and it sticks! I've also done a few highway pulls from 3rd to 4th to 5th. The clutch didn't slip at all and just gripped!

One thing I will say about this new clutch is that, I found I had to rev my engine a bit higher for the engagement. Cause of the LWFW the rpm's drop quicker then with the DMFW. That was my only change in my driving style. Engagement point I can't be certain to say if it has changed from my stock clutch, it feels it's the same point.

Hope this helps

Sounds good. I think I will go with the DMFW version as it should have the same power handling capability. Seeing that I haven't heard of any people having this clutch fail, plus it is the Vishnu single turbo go to clutch, I think it will be an adequate clutch. It also helps that it is a lot cheaper than the only other two nice alternatives (HPF and CM FX800) IMO.

It looks like I'll be ordering the Stg 2+. Hopefully it holds up and doesn't rattle with 700whp

I would suggest using it with the DMFW, just seems like it reduces any chances of chatter or rattle.

He did post a review in multiple forums, just search. The conclusion is that the clutch is ok but the lightweight flywheel is not.
