Exterior Detail by Speed Freak (Brian L)

So I finally got around to getting some help from Brian L on an exterior detail. Man did I ever need it. I would highly recommend Brian L to anyone in the area. He is very professional, very meticulous, and very reasonable. Some of the commentary is from Brian.

BTW, it was raining for a couple of days before he showed up so I couldnt wash the car before hand. Kinda embarrassing...

Products Used:

CG Citrus Wash
Iron X
Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
Pinnacle Speed Clay
Poorboy's World QD as lube
Meguiar's APC
HD Uno on Lake Country CCS orange pad via FLEX 4301
Menzerna PO87MC on Lake Country CCS grey pad via FLEX 3401
HD Poxy
Stoner's Invisible Glass
Optimum Metal Polish
Armor All tire shine

Couple before shots, car definitely in need of a good bath when I arrived

Starting with the wheels, Sonax doing it's thing

MUCH better

Wheels completed

After the wash was done, I moved onto the application of Iron X paint decontaminate

Iron X soaking into the paint

Driveway looked like it was bleeding from all the contamination running off the car

After the Iron X was complete I pulled her into the garage to start claying.

Glass as well as paint surfaces are clayed in ALL of my details

Not too bad. I'm finding that when I use Iron X, the clay doesn't seem to be as dirty afterwards

Trunk lid and driver's side quarter panel corrected, now that's what I call a perfect finish!!

Rear bumper cover

Passenger side quarter panel corrected

Moving toward the front of the car

Passenger side fender before

After correction

Driver's side fender polished out

Driver's side front door complete

Mirror corrected

Roof before. Notice the haziness and lack of clarity even without the halogens present

After correction, with halogens present

Here is some more follow up:

Next up I moved on to the cloudy, dull window trim. Common problem amongst E9x cars. Easily fixed though

Before:

After, MUCH better!

Time for some AFTER shots. I finished up as the sun was going down, so not the best for sun shots but you get the idea.

Just a nice reflection shot into the roof

That's all I got, thanks for looking!

Once again. I highly recommend Brian. This was a great experience and I plan on using him again!

You wouldn't be interested in doing a detail on my car, would you?

Brian does an awesome job!!! He did my 335i when I had it. If you just want a regular wash which is still better than a car wash and he puts his time into it it runs 75 dollars. If you want the next stage up which takes almost 3 hours is 160. If you need paint correction which takes about 8 hours your looking at I believe 395 for Stage 1 and if you want the Stage 2 it runs a little more. However, its definitely worth the money and he definitely does great work.

I did a stage 1 and it took about 6 hours, looked amazing afterwards - I posted a topic about it somewhere around here if you search.

My car had a load of swirls which were pretty much all sorted out.

I think your pricing for the services are a bit off - if your interested, just pm him or shoot me a PM and I'll send you his number

Depending on when you had your car last done, at the beginning of this year Brian changed his pricing.

Just give him a call to set it up. Are you trying to get in a detail before bimmerfest?

Yeah, I'd like to know too.

Well, it could be the Optimum metal polish listed in the first post - D'oh
