Have a muffler resonator delete...it is a bit raspy so I ordered 2 vibrant resonator 1792's and planned on putting them on the muffler delete pipes....anything wrong with this? I do not want to delete the secondary cats so is this the best option?

I might just do this on my car instead of putting my paddle shifters in.

Do yourself a favor and just delete the muffler and keep the resonator. It's plenty loud enough and it sounds much better than both deleted. It will also be quieter inside the cabin also.

I get compliments all the time from car fans including BMW fans. They always ask what exhaust system im using and they are surprised as hell when I just say muffler delete. Granted its a 330i not a 325 so it probably sounds a little different. Sport mode sounds sick though.

There is zero difference in sound with the 330 to the 325 or 328.

The only purpose of the muffler is to reduce the engine noise coming through the exhaust. The onboard computer can compensate for any changes to the decrease in backpressure from the increased flow of exhaust gasses. Otherwise the only effect is the level of noise.

Once I get around to rewelding my tips back on, i'll get a video.

I have this rattle noise ATM and I wouldn't subject anyone else to hearing it on purpose lol

Has anyone used an AR20 or AR25 in place of the stock resonator? I did this on my E46 M3 to reduce the rasp and it helped greatly. If you have please provide a sound clip!

On my exhaust, (I got ripped off, mind you, and should have done more research on price), I have 3" pipe from the resonator back and stainless tips.

Shitty video, lol. I know.

Anone know if the size of pipe you use affects the sound? Seems like some of these MD's sound really good, and others sound kinda raspy and farty. Not the sound I'm going for.

What size is the stock exhaust pipe?

Has anyone done secondary cat and resonator delete, but kept the stock muffler?

I've been toying with this idea because I don't want the car to be "too" loud. I want it to have a deeper tone under load though.

I did. Had the guy bolt a plate up to the existing mounting point and weld the plate to the new piping to help with rigidity and minimal movement. The bonus is because of the way its mounted, it can still use urethane bushings for ample shock absorption. If I get around to it, I'll snap some photos and post it up.
