Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
Anyone purchase these tires?
I'm looking to replace my Potenza Runflats soon. Looking to go A/S as opposed to a Summer / Winter setup. These look like the best option. http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...3/tire-details http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=170 Last edited by 330iE90spt; 07-24-2013 at 12:22 PM.. |

I too am looking at the A/S 3. Also considering the PSS.
PSS- proven track record but only rated at 30k miles A/S 3- lots of hype for a tire thats only been out for a month and I can't find any user reviews on them. Rated at 45k miles. We have the Michelin A/S plus which is the gen prior to the A/S 3 on our 535i GT. Great tire and they still have 10/32s on the front at 17k miles. Have not measured the rears. |

Yes, A/S 3 is getting a lot of hype from what I've read. I watched a video from topspeed.com that tested the A/S 3 and they tested better than most summer tires. I don't think tirerack has posted any tests or ratings compared to any other tires yet.
Perhaps Gary @ Tirerack can chime in on the A/S 3 and when he expects to have test results compared to other A/S ultra-high performance tires? |

The A/S 3 looks like it will be exceptionally good for its category for wet and dry traction. For snow traction, it will not be as good as true winter tires, but if you have a mild winter it will do the job. Expect winter traction similar to the current A/S Plus.

Thinking of running these on my summer setup because I know I'm prone to waiting until the first snow before switching. I wonder if they're worth the price difference vs the Conti DWS.
I'm sad they lost the V-groove pattern though. How come they don't come in 235/35?! Last edited by dkexige; 07-25-2013 at 01:31 PM.. |

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT mix with Michelin A/S
My 2007 E92 335I rear tyre wear externally on inner side at 20,000KM. Front are fine. Is it OK to only replace rear tyre with Michelin A/S?
Thanks, Shn |

Ordered mine Friday from local retailer. They called today and said the fronts for my 335is won't go into production till sept/oct. I had called Michelin prior and they claimed there are some in stock.
So I called Michelin again today. The A/S 3 fronts I need in 225/40/18 are just being built and not in actual production yet. So it could be Sept/Oct. Guess I'll go to local retailer, get a refund and wait. Last edited by gmblack3; 07-30-2013 at 07:42 AM.. |

Fortunately, you can use size 235/40R18 up front in its place. Tires http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...ires/index.jsp

I have these coming in on Wednesday with a set if vossen cv3's. I've had the super sport and wasn't too impressed till this month as its been really warm up here in Canada. The tires stick! But usually, the temps are 15c highs with lows hitting 9c and its like driving on plastic!
I've had the Conti DWS and for our weather here, these are amazing plus very quiet! Had the Michelin A/S plus and though great, the rears seemed to cup! Good performance though they were a tad loud. Also had the Pirelli pzero all season and I hated them. Loud and very unstable. |

I have the V-rated 225/45R17's. The are definitely firmer than my previous tires but not as firm as the Pirelli runflats that came on the car originally. I think they are fine over bumps but don't expect soft luxury-oriented ride with these.

Went with the 235s up front and just had them installed an hour ago. Will make the 30 mile drive to work this evening

235/40R18 fits up front in lieu of 225/40R18.
