2008 328i HIFI upgrade
I am going to be taking my car to a "Car audio Warehouse" to get a amp/sub installed in the back and maybe some alpine tweeters in the front. Will they be able to do the job without the Technic harness? Or should I order a harness from and have them use it?
Also, I currently have the hifi system (No Logic7) and I was wondering what your opinion was on my current "upgrade plan": - JL XD500 Amp - Alpine 1242D 12 inch Sub - Alpine Type S tweeters Please let me know your opinion as soon as possible. Also, What pricing should I expect to be fair for these items along with installation? Thanks! Last edited by yojoe; 10-04-2012 at 04:24 PM.. |

Hard to give you a price opinion. You can google the cost of the components, but the sub install could be a square box to a custom fitted enclosure so hard to give you a value for that.
I WOULD recommend a Technic harness. They CAN do the job correctly, by tapping wires, but I still wouldn't WANT that. The Technic Harness will ensure the proper wires are used and that everything is reversible to stock. |

What are you hooking the amp up to? You could be using it on the 8" and the 12", or you could be doing something else, it's not clear. Where are you geographically?

If you still using the HI Fi amp for the doors
If you still using the HI Fi amp and stock speakers for the doors
you are shortchanging everything above the frequency that the sub plays at. Last edited by ctuna; 10-04-2012 at 11:15 PM.. |
