55W HID fog light on E90?

I have a 35W HID fog light on my E90 today, but I experience that the fog light on the driver side turns off after some seconds.

I've already got some error-cancellers, but they dont seem to work.

Does the fog light housing melt if I order 55W HID for the fog lights?
As I've understood, the stock halogen fog lights are 55W - and with the 55W HID, I WILL NOT get any error or turn off? Am I right?

Anyone who has done this? Digital/standard ballast?

I'd stick with 35w, as HIDs burn hotter than normal halogen lights. Also, a CANBUS ballast would be the easiest way of deleting errors.

Im running 55watt 3000k fogs with cancellers, no problems.

How hard are they to install? Just plug and play?

Do they fit in the oem fog light slot or do you have to modify it?

this is not true, halogens burn hotter because of a few reasons usually they are higher wattage 55watts vs 35 watts, and their less efficient at putting out light other byproduct is the heat. HIDs are much more efficient hence they are run at 35 watts when compared to 55watts (lumens output are closer at this difference) 55watt hid will indeed run hotter than a 35 watt hid but still slightly under the temp compared to a 55 watt halogen.

i have 55 watt hids and all did is put a relay harrness connected to the battery and the ballast yes i have an error but i got my car coded and there error less. no they do not melt the fog light ive had them for over 6 month and i drive from ny to florida 3 times a year thats 23 hrs of driving and it dont not melt them. i love 55watt much nicer color and brighter

Are you happen to be running DDMTuning 55w fogs?

I just had a quick question. I'm running 35 w hid fogs with capacitor. I want to upgrade to the 55w. My question is can I just get the 55w ballast? Or do I have to change the bulb as well? Thanks

Just code out the bulb check you can use any kit you want. No error cancelers or resistors needed.
